The set design for this studio shoot chose a set of extremely delicate classical Japanese elements, from the flower-and-bird paintings on the screen to the stone lanterns in the corner, with the visual weight carefully balanced.

Regarding the clothing, the gradient patchwork of light purple and pink-white builds a lightweight, ethereal sense, especially the wide water-ripple sleeves, which form excellent dynamics when moving around. The bow accessory at the waist and the gold-trimmed black lining at the neckline elevate the overall exquisite detail. To coordinate with the character's dreamy traits, I specially selected this light gray-blue long wig; the hair strands have clear textures, and the bow headband on top serves as an excellent embellishment.

For the makeup, I opted for a smudge technique leaning toward cool pink tones to echo the attire's texture. The skin base pursued clarity, focusing the weight on the exquisiteness of the eye makeup, striving to make the gaze look gentle and full of narrative depth. The ears are one of the essences of this attire, utilizing naturally blending pointed ear props that fit exceptionally seamlessly.

The pairing of props is vital. The circular fan in hand is painted with elegant flowers, echoing the bouquets in the background set. The black sake bottle and shamisen placed on the wooden box add a quiet touch of daily life to the entire frame. From a photography perspective, we utilized paper lanterns as one of the main light sources; this warm light cast on the person makes the skin appear translucent. Meanwhile, the cool blue backlight in the environment forms a hot-and-cold contrast with the warm-toned foreground, beautifully enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere.

Wearing white tights while sitting on wooden furniture beautifully showcases the leg lines, giving the frame both 2D cuteness and a hint of mature elegance, perfecting the White tights cosplay. The early stage conceptualization for this shoot took quite a bit of time. The Japanese-style set design is not a simple stacking of props but requires coordinating colors and space. For instance, the placement angles of the stone lantern and the wooden bench had to ensure that during post-production or straight-out-of-camera shots, the person occupies the golden ratio within the frame. The bottle gourd and cherry blossom branches on the wooden rack, including that shamisen, actually became reference points for my posing during the shooting process.

When custom-making the costume, we intentionally adjusted the sleeve pattern. You see, if the material for these massive flowing sleeves isn't selected carefully, they easily collapse and look lifeless. Ultimately, we selected a combination of chiffon with a certain stiffness and faux silk patchwork, which both preserves the flowing feel of the pink-purple palette and generates excellent line tension when shooting sleeve-swinging movements. The black neck ornament carries a slight metallic sheen, forming a strong contrast with the white collar, smoothing out the neck and jawlines cleanly.

The styling of the wig is one of the keys determining the success of this photo set. Light gray-blue looks highly fake if it doesn't undergo layered trimming. I performed extensive thinning and layering treatments on the wig, especially around the sideburns area, cutting out some stray hairs, which contours the face shape beautifully and makes me look much more natural instead of looking like wearing a heavy helmet. The bow on top of the head wasn't clipped on directly but fixed onto the hair bun structure so it won't easily skew due to large movements.

During the shooting process, my favorite pose was the set sitting on the box. To display the texture of the white stockings, I tried my best to maintain the natural bending of the legs, with the toes slightly exerting force to reveal the line feel of the white stockings fitting the legs. Due to the reflective characteristics of white stockings fabric, the on-site lighting couldn't be too hard, otherwise it would make the legs look bloated; we used softboxes to fill the light.

The props in hand were rotated a few times. The circular fan carries an immense scholar aura, suitable for expressing a gentle side; whereas the bamboo slips bring a bookish charm—holding them in hand, one unconsciously straightens up the posture. Before the lens, I did not deliberately try to express coquettishness but rather chose to handle a quiet, resolute demeanor, just like chatting with you in a dream, quietly looking at the Traveler.

During post-processing, we preserved a vast amount of warm-toned atmosphere, while dampening the saturation of cluttered colors in the background, allowing the skin tone and costume colors to stand out. Under the alternating hot and cold light and shadow, I felt as though I truly resided inside that wooden cottage filled with flower fragrance, where time itself slowed down. While maintaining the 2D style, this set of styling also heavily tested the model's bodily expressiveness. Every step had to land on the lighting, and every gaze had to coordinate with the frame's language. I am highly glad that the cooperation with the photographer this time was exceptionally smooth, capturing so many moments full of tension. Actually, in reality, I quite like this kind of environment dominated by wooden structures; smelling the scent of wood allows one to calm down. This shoot for me was not just completing a roleplay but more like an exploration of beauty. This represents a beautiful piece of Yumemizuki Mizuki cosplay capture integrated with Anime-style photography.
