[Azur Lane cosplay] Firefly ACG Expo Convention Photos in a Red Suit & Black Tights Outfit

Debuting this Azur Lane red suit look at the Firefly ACG Expo, I focused primarily on fabric texture and the fidelity of accessories. Because convention lighting is notoriously tricky, I coordinated with the photographer beforehand to seek out clean backdrops, ultimately picking this expansive orange-yellow wall as our primary shooting spot—the punchy contrast yielded remarkably crisp results.

Regarding the wardrobe, to give the red suit a sharp silhouette, subtle shoulder pads were added, and I chose a structured, drapey fabric so poses like adjusting the collar or holding a phone never looked flimsy. Underneath, black lace lingerie and a white shirt were paired with a criss-cross black necktie, striking a balance between 2D anime charm and chic urban workplace flair. The bottom featured a navy pencil skirt paired with sheer black tights and pointed high heels; walking around a crowded convention floor in a pencil skirt and heels was quite exhausting, but it perfectly channeled the character's capable yet slightly tsundere presence.

For hair and makeup, trimming the pink wig took considerable effort—adjusting the curve of the bangs and sidelocks to naturally veil half of my face. Bright blue contact lenses illuminated my complexion, while slim-framed metallic glasses with silver chains added an exquisite, elven sophistication. The pointed elf ears were secured using specialized prosthetic glue; waiting about ten minutes for them to bond felt slightly tight, but they contoured seamlessly to my face before the lens.

The shoot itself was breezy, leaning mostly into casual, candid gestures. For instance, the full-body look in Photo 8 was snapped candidly by the photographer while I was glancing down at my phone waiting for a friend—the sheer tights beautifully elongated my leg lines, set within comfortable negative space and framing. Other shots tugging at the lapel were meant to display the lace neckline and tie details while smoothing out folds across the blazer's chest. Neither on-camera flash nor wandering convention attendees disrupted the takes. In post-processing, color grading boosted the saturation of the red and gently softened the background to give the subject defined three-dimensional depth.

Despite heavy crowds, the striking pairing of a bold red suit and pink hair turned plenty of heads. Cosplaying a character you love—from preparing the outfit and styling the wig to brainstorming compositions with the photographer—is an absolute blast in itself. This curated photo set nicely merges character aura with personal flair, and I am thoroughly pleased with the final edits. Overall, it was a smooth, deeply rewarding shoot.
