This Day 3 set of Phrolova from Wuthering Waves at Firefly ACG Expo was captured in an outdoor night setting. Putting on the mint-green wig styled into a thick side braid, applying red-blended eye shadow with vivid crimson lips, and popping in red contact lenses brought the complete styling to life. To mirror the character's demeanor, I prepared red spider lily props tied with long flowing red ribbons both for my hair and in hand, forging a sharp, high-contrast red-and-white visual clash against the predominantly white dress. The garment blended glossy satin, translucent tulle, and intricate lace panels, with the off-the-shoulder cut and criss-cross chest strapping visually elongating the neck and collarbones. The sleeves featured voluminous lantern puffs transitioning into extended lace cuffs, paired with white lace stockings on the lower half to weave a delicate, dark-tinged fragile beauty throughout the opulent design.
The shoot was staged beside a red automobile; ambient night illumination, reflections off the paintwork, and soft bokeh light orbs provided gorgeous environmental atmosphere. Framed against the crimson car body, the red-and-white wardrobe projected intense visual tension. Throughout the session, I explored diverse postures—leaning against the car door, draping myself over the hood, or gazing straight into the lens while cradling the blossoms. To channel Phrolova's enigmatic, melancholic essence, I moderated my facial expressions toward a serene, subtly detached gaze. Photographer Chongzi was remarkably adept with lighting dynamics and framing; simply following his guidance and dialing in body angles allowed the session to proceed effortlessly. In the shots draped across the red hood in particular, reflections from the glossy paint swept across the white gown and legs, highlighting the tactile embroidery of the white lace sleeves and Stockings cosplay with striking clarity.
The energy on Day 3 of the convention was exhilarating. Because this coordinate was thoroughly polished, numerous attendees recognized the character while roaming the floor. Seeing a long queue forming for selfies left me deeply flattered, with a brief wave of stage fright kicking in. Though standing for hours in high heels and complex accessories was physically exhausting, seeing everyone recognize the character and eagerly interact brought genuine joy. That authentic sense of pride remains the most cherished reward of every cosplay journey.
Preparing for these Convention photos demanded dedicated care toward garment maintenance and makeup nuance. Night shoots ruthlessly test expressiveness under challenging light, requiring continuous micro-adjustments to find the optimal angles. Fortunately, the finished images turned out with exceptional texture—the bold collision of the red car, white gown, green hair, and red spider lilies fulfilled a nocturnal interpretation of the character. That wraps up this share of convention photos, and I look forward to meeting everyone at the next expo.
