Putting on this gear means displaying the proper professional etiquette expected of Victoria Housekeeping.
A lot of effort went into styling the wig this time, with key details in the geometric hairclips on both sides and the red-and-black contrasting highlights at the ends. Compared to a standard Maid cosplay outfit, Ellen's uniform carries a sleek, almost battle-worn aggressiveness; leather cross-straps and rivet textures lend a more hardcore edge to the visuals.
I specifically took a mirror selfie full-body shot to highlight overall proportions and lower-body material pairings in this Black tights outfit. The jacquard embroidery pattern on the black stockings is exceptionally delicate. Paired with those black platform shoes featuring red heels, it elongates the visual effect while creating a clever contrast between Victoria Housekeeping's daily casual feel and combat setup. Although the phone blocked most of the lens, the black-white-red upper body structure and strap lines remain crystal clear.
As for capturing her gaze and expressions, since the character is known for her languid, aloof demeanor, I deliberately controlled my facial muscles during shooting. Combined with custom red contact lenses and understated eye makeup, I did my best to replicate that vibe of \"appearing nonchalant, yet possessing unfathomable power.\" Including the detail of biting on a thin white stick was a spur-of-the-moment idea to add a touch of casualness, which unexpectedly fit the Shark girl's true character even better.
Capturing the essence of a game character often lies in dedication to accessory details. The metal buckles on this costume, the silver chain at the waist, and the weighty armored bracers on the wrists all put the prop craft to the test. Throughout the shoot, the most direct takeaway was that despite the many costume layers, it didn't look bulky at all; on the contrary, tailored cuts perfectly outlined the body, shifting her aura more toward a cool-headed fighter than a purely domestic maid.
Regarding key lower-body details, these red-soled single shoes needed to deliver visual punch, and the heel curvature was specifically selected. To match Ellen Joe cosplay's usual languid posture, I even adjusted my walking balance by leaning my center of gravity slightly backward, creating an unhurried sense of presence when moving. Although the upper body features intricate elements, the lower body relies on the black lace trim and red-bottom shoes to anchor the visual weight firmly, preventing a top-heavy look.
In terms of makeup strategy, I opted for a clean, crisp base paired with a tiny beauty mark below the eye as an accent, emphasizing facial contours without heavy makeup stealing the spotlight. A great cosplay presentation relies not only on pre-production costumes, makeup, and props, but also on lighting and expression coordination during shooting. To highlight her aloof coolness, I chose soft natural lighting to make the black-white-red contrast sharper and match skin texture to the character setup.
Finally, sharing my physical experience during shooting: this outfit possesses remarkably rich layering, but simultaneously tests physical stamina. Maintaining a cool, confident state throughout hours of shooting requires intense focus. I thoroughly enjoyed bringing Zenless Zone Zero's Ellen Joe from 2D into reality, hoping to convey my understanding and interpretation of this character through the camera, and hoping everyone can feel the care poured into this photoshoot set.
