[Ye Shunguang Cosplay] Happy Fragments of Checking in at the Chengdu Anime Convention in Zenless Zone Zero

The back-to-back schedule of the Chiyuanxiong and oioi anime conventions over the weekend, combined with the high temperatures and running around outdoor venues, was indeed a major test of my physical endurance. However, being able to shuttle through these two Chengdu Anime Conventions as Ye Shunguang, the happiness gained throughout the process completely cancelled out the fatigue.

For this Zenless Zone Zero Ye Shunguang Cosplay, the focus was entirely on the layering of the costume and the securing of the headpiece. This white-and-red costume has quite a few straps and spliced designs in its tailoring. To ensure clean lines during outdoor shooting, I made targeted adjustments and double-secured the shoulder straps and waistband before heading out. Although the headpiece isn't large, keeping it stable in the wind is a technical skill; combined with wig styling, clips plus glue barely withstood the strong outdoor wind, keeping the hairstyle solid all day long.

The nine-grid collage from the exhibition hall recorded many chance encounters—from white-haired experts in a long-straight-black-hair uniform style to beast-like outfits with fluffy big tails, every fellow fan had their own unique character presence. My favorite is the group back-view photo taken with everyone by the lake; under the setting sun facing the city skyline, everyone raised their arms together to make a peace sign. The different shapes of fluffy tails and costumes presented a highly atmospheric frame under natural light, making it the most satisfying collective memento from this convention.

As for the solo selfies, I think the one on the outdoor lawn captures my best state. When holding the selfie stick, I intentionally found a sunlight angle from the front-side; the light-transmitting effect made the red-and-white color contrast on the clothes incredibly bright, and the white stockings and shoe covers looked very clean and crisp on the grass. Although everyone always calls me '150 Xiao Guang Senior Sister,' finding the right composition in a solo lens combined with confident movements can absolutely carry the aura. The creators at the convention venue were all very professional and gentle, and being caught by them for taking photos with cosplayers at conventions was a highly fulfilling experience.

Aside from taking photos and interacting, I chatted quite a bit with the creators on-site about their insights on props and costumes—such as how to prevent fluffy tails from having their aesthetics ruined by grass debris in outdoor venues, or color management for wigs under different sunlight conditions. This professional exchange on costumes, makeup, and props is the greatest reward of attending conventions besides producing photos.

After running through two conventions, though my legs and feet were indeed sore and I needed to carefully clean traces off the accessories and clothes every day upon returning home, being able to freely walk around and take photos on such a comfortable massive outdoor lawn and by the lake offered a far deeper sense of immersion than being inside a cramped indoor exhibition hall. This offline social atmosphere and the self-expression brought by the character are the primal motivations supporting my Cosplay photo sharing journey to convention venues time and time again.
