[Ellen Joe cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero group photoshoot teaser and Mirror selfie record

The group photoshoot teaser for Zenless Zone Zero's Ellen Joe has been officially released. Along with this teaser content and my personal Mirror selfie, here is a warm-up share before the official full shoot.

This selfie is a casual record taken while preparing for the group shoot. Because it is a teaser, I didn't deliberately pursue studio-grade lighting, but rather presented the overall texture of the costume and styling details in the most natural way. To restore the character's capable feel, I styled the hair as a short black bob with subtle red highlights at the tips, while the white zigzag hairpins serve as a highly recognizable finishing touch for the entire look. During the shoot, it was necessary not only to control the strength of the movements, but also to infuse that unapproachable yet distinctly unique temperament into every frozen frame.

The material selection and details of this costume also closely fit the character's combat positioning. The black sleeveless top, paired with ruffled designs at the collar and chest alongside a central metallic zipper, perfectly reflects the character's neat and cool sharpness in Anime-style fashion. Around the waist is a relatively wide black corset-style leather band, where silver crisscross hoop straps paired with square metal buckles underneath not only grant dimensional layering to the overall silhouette, but also greatly enhance the visual combat vibe. The black skirt of the bottom features white vertical line trims, improving the skirt hem's drape and making the character appear taller. Coordinated with the continuity of the overall styling, pairing the red-and-black horizontal striped sleeve on the right arm and the black fingerless glove on the left hand provides a great decorative and extending effect.

Because what we're releasing this time is a set of "teaser group photos", we also set very high standards for the team's overall presentation. Although the entire details of the five-person squad cannot be fully seen in the camera re-shot of the electronic screen in the cover image, everyone can feel the distinct outfit styles of the five characters, as well as the vivid portrayal of the character with animal ears in the center. As one of the members, each of us poured tremendous passion into this, striving not only to get close to the original setting in movement and costume, but also to ensure this ensemble captures the unique aesthetics of the original work—cyberpunk metropolis, light techwear, and a blend of wasteland and sci-fi. From initially creating a group chat to discuss themes and assign characters, to customizing costumes, testing hairstyles, and building tacit teamwork, every single step allowed me to deeply experience the joy inherent in cosplay.

Using a mirror as a viewfinder is actually one of my favorite ways to record a Mirror selfie. It not only allows me to more intuitively check whether the positioning of my outfit and accessories is accurate, but also shortens the distance with viewers through the relaxed posture of holding a phone in Casual cosplay. The highlight in the frame conceals the face, but the focus I want to express is instead the outfit details, the collarbone lines, and this anime-style photographic composition, conveying the character's uninhibited and cool aura even when just standing still. Since it was taken with a front-facing phone camera in front of the mirror with the highlight just blocking the face, this mysterious approach actually aligns better with the character's gap temperament in the work—usually lazy, yet extremely efficient in action. Often during group shoots, we encounter spontaneous lively moments, like adjusting collars or putting on gloves; these non-formulaic postures often capture the character's intrinsic charm much more naturally.

Regarding this newly released group shoot teaser, the cyberpunk aesthetic style in Zenless Zone Zero has always deeply attracted me, and Ellen Joe's character design balances avant-garde aesthetics with practical utility wonderfully. It can be said that this shoot was a fantastic experience; our staff and all participating cosplayers poured immense heart and soul into this series, not just to perfectly recreate the characters' appearances, but to convey that combat conviction of being at ease in an urban jungle. Currently, this set of ensemble photos is in the final retouching stage. I believe the final official photoshoot will bring a stunning visual experience to anime enthusiasts who love this series, allowing everyone to truly feel the deep charm embedded in this work.
