[Seed cosplay & Trigger cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Obol Squad Assembles for Children's Day

On Children's Day, the Obol Squad assembled on the rooftop for an official makeup and costume shoot. The water-logged ground reflected the dark blue sky, providing us with an exceptional mirror reflection effect. Throughout the shoot, we searched for the best compositions in this damp, hardcore environment, making the water reflections the visual soul of the entire piece.

Let's start with the gear. To give Seed cosplay tactical gear an authentic functional vibe, we carefully balanced the cut and color-blocking of the outfit. The high-contrast yellow and dark blue design paired with multiple hidden pockets and webbing straps had to remain sleek without looking bulky while allowing flexible tactical movements. Trigger cosplay featuring vibrant orange-red long hair served as a visual focal point; her black headphones and highly mechanical prop tail fin underwent repeated reinforcement tests during preparation to ensure stability during the shoot. Every member of Obol Squad brought their iconic weapons, ranging from heavy rifles to yellow-and-black long-handled equipment, each meticulously painted and weathered to capture the genuine texture and durability from Zenless Zone Zero.

The photographer played a crucial role in this session. He accurately captured outdoor lighting, especially in the night series, utilizing the cool blue night sky background paired with warm yellow rim light to perfectly outline the dimensionality of the gear and facial contours. In terms of composition, low-angle shots and wide-angle lenses combined with positioning shifts injected intense dramatic tension into every frame. We intentionally added lively interactions for Children's Day to break the tactical squad's usual seriousness, hoping this contrast conveys a unique holiday ambiance.

The biggest challenge of outdoor shoots lies in uncontrollable natural light and timing. Although puddles provide fantastic reflections, miscalculating light changes easily leads to crushed shadows or overexposure. We spent the entire morning on the rooftop repeatedly adjusting camera positions, even crouching low on the ground to refine poses for that perfect water mirror image. For us who love Techwear cosplay, deeply recreating characters means finding their emotions and tension in specific environments. Maintaining Obol Squad's constant state of alertness required complete immersion through body gestures and eye contact.

The final results were deeply satisfying—from crisp daytime reflections to high-impact nighttime wide-angle perspectives, everything oozed quality. Completing such a complex styled photo session with the team is an incredibly fulfilling achievement. Heavy props, slick ground, and exhaustion from repeated blocking eventually transformed into striking details worth admiring in every photo. It proved to be a vivid practice in character interpretation and teamwork, proving that carving every detail with heart brings out the finest presence on set.
