From the moment I unboxed this red and white costume, the intricate layering and clever tailoring were immediately apparent. Preparing for this Phrolova cosplay from Wuthering Waves, the trickiest puzzle was the complex network of red straps across the chest and arms. Far from being mere decorations, these intertwined straps required untangling the precise wearing sequence and fine-tuning tension to achieve that perfect balance between fitted restraint and design flair. The off-the-shoulder cut paired with detached sleeves beautifully accentuates the neck and shoulder lines, while the white base shirt and red outerwear create a timeless contrast that remains striking without feeling cluttered.

Moving to the lower half, the red skirt hem employs extensive irregular draping and paneling with distressed edge details. This asymmetrical aesthetic, paired with ultra-short black safety shorts, creates dynamic fluid movement while walking. Sheer black tights and the leather garter on the left leg are personal favorite accents; the tights add rich texture beyond solid colors, while the leg ring breaks visual proportions to give a three-dimensional structure to the lower body. Red strappy high heels were selected after extensive searching; their lacing subtely echoes the strap elements on the outfit, supporting the weightiness of the look on hard floors.

Prop selection required equal diligence. The vibrant red floral bouquet I held matched the outfit's red tones perfectly. Real props require careful scale and weight consideration—a bouquet too large obscures intricate chest and arm details, while one too small feels frail. For these Mirror selfie shots, I placed the mirror in a clean space to avoid cluttered background lines. The camera's slightly desaturated, muted straight-out-of-camera tones fit the mysterious, dark visual tone of this outfit.

Regarding hair, the light mint green wig underwent extensive combing and setting. Since this shade can easily look synthetic, I spent considerable effort setting its texture with spray before heading out. The long side braid—a signature element—required balanced hand tension while braiding; too tight looks stiff, while too loose appears frizzy on camera. For the crouching shot, I used foreground blurring by placing the large red flower prop right in front of the lens, using depth of field to extend skirt layers and leg lines.

This style—centered on red, white, and black with straps, asymmetrical cuts, and leather accents—demands disciplined posture control in practice. Every few shots required adjusting cloth strips and accessories to ensure they draped correctly for the camera. Though time-consuming, seeing the visually impactful result in the mirror made every effort worthwhile. Mastering this look gave me practical experience in deconstructing strapped Anime-style fashion while refining my ability to capture character atmosphere under indoor lighting. Recreating that authentic style tone remains my ultimate goal in Casual cosplay.
