While organizing my photo albums, I dug out this Touhou Project Alice Cosplay photoshoot set in a vintage study—time to clear out the archives! On the day of the shoot, we deliberately chose a dimly lit, dark-toned wooden vintage study styled like a Vintage library, decorated with red velvet armchairs, carved bookcases, retro desk lamps, and a gramophone. The blue Lolita fashion dress for Alice boasts exquisite details, with abundant white lace along the collar and cuffs, paired with pink bow ribbons and brown ankle boots for an aesthetically pleasing color balance. Since Alice is a puppeteer and magician, we specially prepared a thick, heavy hardcover grimoire cross-tied with pink ribbons as the centerpiece prop.

To capture Alice's nuanced personality—alternating between languid composure and playful charm—we experimented with several compositions. The shot resting asleep on the desk leveraged the warm glow of tabletop red roses and candlelight to craft a serene, quiet ambiance; the shot sitting on the table edge holding a box exuded sweet, obedient poise. My absolute favorite is the shot lying on the wooden floor with legs raised high—paired with an exaggerated ultra-low-angle perspective, it beautifully showcased the flared curve of the skirt while the expansive leg lines added dramatic tension to the frame. The photographer invested immense effort into lighting, mainly using single-sided key highlights on the subject to create a theatrical spotlight effect against the dark background.

In post-processing, I focused on preserving the warm-and-cool contrast between the ambient warm yellow lighting and the blue-and-white Lolita fashion dress, giving the textures a richer, more substantial depth. The synergy between posing and setting resonated deeply with her character persona, resulting in a faithful and successful recreation. Overall, the atmosphere on set was fantastic. Although lying on the floor and leaning over desks took considerable physical effort, seeing the final images made every moment worthwhile—a truly memorable Anime cosplay photography experience in the Touhou Project universe.
