This time doing Phrolova cosplay from Wuthering Waves, a lot of thought went into the costume and props. The bluish-green wig is styled into two thick braids, with the hair ends intentionally treated to look slightly loose. The red flower hair accessory on top of the head and the red-and-white alternate straps on the arms were adjusted position by position against the reference image. The material of the clothes was chosen with a draping fabric, and the red waist cincher at the waist and the red-and-white ribbons on the lower body have many layers. To pursue visual effects, the red-and-black striped stockings on the lower body matched with red high heels greatly lengthened the proportion of the legs visually.
The outdoor photography chose two scenes: the riverside on an overcast afternoon and the grassland at night. In the afternoon by the riverside, the sky was gloomy and the clouds were thick. At first, I was a bit worried that the lighting wasn't good enough, but after test shooting, I found that this large area of cool-toned grayish-blue sky just set off the high-saturation red-and-white color scheme of the clothes. Low-angle upward shooting is a composition I quite like; to show Phrolova's flamboyant yet somewhat mysterious posture, the movements of arms stretching out widely and body leaning backward were shot repeatedly many times. Because it often requires maintaining the center of gravity, it is a big test for core strength. When the wind blew, the skirt hem and thick braids flew in the same direction, and the photographer captured many natural dynamic moments.
The nighttime outdoor photography was chosen on a river beach growing weeds. To match the character's setting, we arranged some red spider lily props on the grass. After dark, the distant city lights reflected on the water surface, forming weak light spots. Night shooting requires using a flash; hard light hits the clothes, making the contrast between red and white even stronger. Stepping barefoot in the grass was actually a bit prickly, but I persisted for the sake of the picture atmosphere. When waving the long staff with red plush decoration in hand, the red flowers scattered on the grass and the clothes on my body echoed each other. The moment the lights turned on, there really was a feeling of breaking the dimensional wall.
During the entire shooting process, the details of the clothing also brought some small challenges. For example, those long ribbons easily tangled together after walking a few steps or striking a pose, and had to be rearranged almost every few shots. In terms of makeup, the red lines under the eyes and red lips echoed the color scheme of the outfit, and the base makeup chose a whiter shade, presenting a cool and detached texture under strong light. This shoot lasted from the afternoon until late at night. When packing up, my body was covered with grass scraps, and the wig also took a lot of time to comb through again, but seeing the images presented in the camera, I felt that these tedious preparations and hard work were all worth it.
