[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd's Pink Fairy's Quiet Moment in the Library

Having completed this Elysia cosplay shoot and organized this batch of photos in the study, I can share some details from the shooting process. Regarding this look, the first thing to handle was the hair color and eye color. The pink neck-length short hair combined with the signature pointed elf ears cosplay are the core features for restoring this character. On styling the wig, quite some thought was put into the trimming to present a naturally fluffy yet layered effect. The pink hair strands, under the illumination of the warm-toned light in the study, form a nice contrast with the fairness of the skin.

For the costume section, it adopted a classic color-blocking combination of white, deep purple, and gold. The deep purple gold-rimmed coat and the armor decorations on the shoulders, while maintaining high recognizability, also add a bit of weight to the fantasy adventure. During the shoot, to emphasize the three-dimensional feel of the attire, natural light was intentionally adjusted to hit from the side, allowing the gold lines and armor accessories to reflect luster. The white inner layer and the lower short skirt hem formed a visual continuity with the over-knee long boots. The brown leather long boots match the character's consistent outfit style very well in texture, and also made it convenient to sit cross-legged on the carpet in front of the bookshelf.

Choosing this real-scene study as the shooting location was mainly to create an atmosphere full of storytelling. The whole row of bookshelves in the background and the gold-blocked text on the book spines beautifully set off the vibe of the heavy magic book in the character's hands. In terms of poses, instead of striking overly gorgeous combat actions, I chose to sit cross-legged on the carpet holding the book, occasionally looking up at the lens. This leaves enough relaxation in the frame, rather than looking stiff purely to display the costume. When shooting this kind of sitting pose or low center of gravity angles, it heavily tests the arrangement of limbs in the frame. By turning slightly sideways to let the leg lines extend naturally, it can maximize the display of the costume's layers. Meanwhile, this movement also aligns with the natural logic of sitting among piles of books in a long robe.

Actually, facing a character with such a vivid and lively personality like Elysia, to convey her spirit in static photos rather than relying purely on actions, requires more coordination of gaze and micro-expressions. This time, I attempted two different states—a gentle pursed-lip smile and a slight tilt of the head looking sideways—hoping to give another visual experience different from previous combat postures. As a cosplay, every presentation of a character is a re-understanding of the character's inner world. In terms of choice of light and shadow and color temperature, the ambient light with a touch of warm wood color in the library was intentionally retained, allowing the originally slightly cool-toned pink and purple to blend into this environment without looking too out of place.

Shooting this kind of photo that carries a touch of fantasy yet emphasizes a daily atmosphere is very different in approach from photos that purely pose to display an outfit. It requires balancing the gorgeousness of the costume and the simplicity of the environment, letting the two generate a dialogue. It can be said that this set of photos is both a restoration of the character's superficial image as the Pink Fairy and an emotional extension based on the story background. Staying in front of the cold, hard wooden bookshelves in this gear for that period of time allowed me to feel that quietness and pensiveness unique to the character outside of daily adventures. When organizing the photos after the shoot, I found that the exposure happened to avoid highlight clipping, keeping the layers of skin tone and clothing within a relatively comfortable range. From early styling preparation to on-site adjustment, and finally to the finished photos, the entire process is very worth recording. This share focuses purely on the shoot itself, and I also hope these attempts from different dimensions can communicate my understanding of this work.
