[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Pink fairy swimsuit of Summer

When shooting this Elysia Cosplay set in the Pink fairy swimsuit, both the water temperature and lighting on set had to be prepared in advance. The pool bottom was tiled with blue-and-white square mosaics with strong water surface reflections, so when setting up the lighting, we adjusted the angles of the studio strobes so that the light filtered through the ripples, falling right onto the transparent blue tulle of the outfit. This costume is rich in detail: the white ruffled skirt has pronounced layering with gold trim along the edges, and the black crisscross straps on the chest required careful tension adjustment to ensure smooth lines without pinching the skin. The placement of the two ribbon bows also required repeated verification, right down to ensuring the shell pendant necklace length matched the original design from Honkai Impact 3rd.

For makeup, the short pink wig showed great translucency under the light sources, and the bright purple contact lenses, combined with defined eyeliner and a wash of pink eyeshadow, beautifully sculpted that doll-like gaze characteristic of the character. The pink blush and lip makeup were kept to a matte texture to ensure clean, smooth skin in close-up shots. To maintain the styling, hair strands and ruffle folds had to be continuously tidied between takes.

Shooting by the poolside, adjusting poses was a fun process. Close-up shots nicely displayed facial expressions and upper-body costume details, while full-body shots required engaging the core to control shoulder and waist lines, making the visual drape of the thigh ring and skirt look more natural. During the shoot, I tried standing in the water looking back over my shoulder, utilizing water reflections and background greenery to add spatial depth to this Summer Film. The water's buoyancy initially made it tricky to stabilize my center of gravity, but finding an edge helped anchor me.

In post-processing, the focus was on adjusting color layering—preserving the contrast of the blue-and-white pool tiles to make the pink hair and white dress stand out more three-dimensionally, while cleaning up minor skin blemishes to maintain a translucent, natural texture. Catchlights were refined individually to make the purple pupils shine brighter. Fabric creases and shadows were also retouched along the grain to keep everything looking structured and crisp.

Compared to regular outfits, the defining feature of this Pink fairy swimsuit is its airy lightness. The combination of sheer tulle and ruffles is not only breathable to wear but also looks exceptionally dynamic in motion. To capture the character's lively nature, the photographer continuously guided me into playful poses during the shoot. Although the pool water was rather chilly at the time, seeing the final cosplay results made the unique experience truly worthwhile. The main challenge of recreating this look lay in the details, and through this shoot, I gained concrete experience on how to achieve high-quality summer poolside aesthetics in a constrained environment.
