From initial conception to the end of the shoot, there are many details worth sharing about this spring-themed styling for Touhou Project Yuyuko Cosplay. Let's start with the base makeup: to create a doll-like cool, alabaster skin texture, I chose a high-coverage foundation and set it thoroughly with matte powder, effectively reducing shine under strong lights. The eye makeup was the core of this Spring makeup look, using large-diameter pink and purple-toned contact lenses paired with long upper and lower false eyelashes. The outer corners were subtly elongated with a reddish-brown gel liner to enlarge the eyes, which, combined with a slightly drooping gaze, created an innocent yet mysterious allure.
The cheek decorations were the highlight of this makeup: I applied translucent butterfly decals on the right cheek and dotted pearls beneath the eye corner. These accessories had to be placed according to face shape to prevent them from looking cluttered. For lips, a highly saturated true-red lip lacquer was used, creating a striking contrast against the overall cool-toned palette.
For the wig, I selected a pink-to-white gradient style, using a curling iron to create large curls before locking in a voluminous silhouette with hairspray. To match the dark night theme of the shoot, the headdress was layered with abundant white and pink flowers, along with pearls and lace bows—heavy to wear, but visually stunning.
The costume structure was also carefully styled: the outer layer featured a multi-layered lace and ruffled corset with slender red shoulder straps intentionally left as a color accent, while the sleeves were wide blue-and-white bell sleeves. Set against a pure black background with a single spotlight focused on the body, the texture of the lace and the luster of the pearls stood out brilliantly. During the shoot, I tried poses such as resting my chin in my hand while looking at the camera and holding flowers; compared to the gentle feel of holding a large bouquet, the chin-resting shots better captured the outfit's elegance and subtle cool aloofness. This cosplay styling was breathtaking in person, and the texture captured under dim lighting was truly atmospheric.
