The finished photos from this Emilia Pleiades Watchtower photoshoot are finally here! Seeing the first photo, I bet many friends immediately thought of the 'Where is Tappei Nagatsuki.jpg' meme—after all, the canon arc put her through quite an ordeal during this storyline. Yet setting the plot aside, this outfit's visual design is genuinely unforgettable.
During pre-shoot prep, styling the wig and the horn accessories on the head demanded the most effort. The silvery-white wig needed layered thinning to fall naturally rather than looking stiff, while blunt bangs required delicate combing. The two purple horns on the hood were secured internally using hairpins and hot-melt glue to ensure they wouldn't tilt or shift even when turning my head frequently during dynamic shots. The elf ear prosthetics were also repositioned and fine-tuned to accommodate various camera focal lengths and framing scales.
The purple bodysuit inner layer was jokingly dubbed 'Thunder Yoga Pants' by friends, but once worn, its body-contouring compression is remarkably strong, sculpting a truly sleek silhouette. To temper that tight visual tension, it was layered beneath a white hooded cape. The cloak fabric is pleasantly substantial with great drape, falling into a soft scalloped hemline. The yellow closure buttons at the neckline and the pink-and-white color-blocked sleeve cuffs are key detail focal points. On the lower half, white high heels not only visually elongated the leg line, but also lent an upright poise to my entire posture.
Our shooting venue was an indoor studio featuring rich purple curtains. Lighting was diffused through softboxes to ensure even illumination across the face, keeping the makeup looking clean, dewy, and translucent. For eye makeup, I wore violet-blue contact lenses, paired with a sweeping wash of blush and high-shine lip glaze to evoke the luminous, otherworldly air befitting an elf.
Regarding posing choreography: for the first shot, resting my chin on my hand with a relaxed, slightly playful expression brought out an endearing side; the second shot had my hands clasped together with my gaze lowered before looking up, channeling a prayerful, serene state that harmonized with the scene's quiet solemnity; the third mirror selfie was meant to intuitively display full-body proportions. Because the suit is so form-fitting, every pose change required pulling and smoothing the fabric to eliminate unsightly wrinkles—shooting full-body frames was honestly far more exhausting than tight close-ups.
The entire shoot went smoothly, thanks to efficient communication with the photographer. Through this set, I hope to convey the character's pure yet quietly cool, regal essence. I'll store and care for this costume carefully, looking forward to taking it outdoors in the future to capture entirely different atmospheric vibes.
