This Christmas Eve cosplay shoot featuring Emilia cosplay has finally been sorted out. The entire look of this Elf costume is based on a white and light purple color palette, with an intricate garment structure: an off-the-shoulder design paired with detached wide flare sleeves, featuring semi-sheer lavender lace tulle at the cuffs that noticeably elevates the overall texture. The neckline features a purple V-shaped cut with an inlaid diamond-shaped green jewel in the center, which serves as a major visual focus of this outfit. The skirt is a pleated mini skirt hemmed with purple piping, accented with purple streamers bearing gold motifs at the sides. On the legs, I wore over-the-knee white stockings (White tights cosplay) with purple scalloped wavy edges. To match the white stockings, I selected a pair of chunky white high heels to better flatter the leg lines before the camera, which, combined with wide-angle lens techniques, made the silhouette look much more elongated and poised.
Before the shoot, I did a lot of work on the wig. This silver-white long straight hair with blunt bangs places high demands on hair texture, as smoothness directly impacts the character's overall aura, so I made anti-static treatments and subtle curvature adjustments. I wore pointed elf ears, and for makeup, I chose blue colored contacts paired with a reddish, translucent eye makeup and light-toned lipstick. The overall color palette was set to cool tones; white and purple shades don't look muddy under cool lighting, instead appearing exceptionally clean and clear.
This photoshoot was divided into two scenes. The first set was a deep blue underwater theme, featuring translucent glowing jellyfish in the backdrop along with blue fish props. The floor was made of reflective material with added blue ambient lighting, capturing a sparkling, shimmering water effect. This environment was ideal for expressing the character's tranquility in the deep sea, as light filtering through the jellyfish onto the white costume created delicate tonal gradations. The second set was a bright flower field theme, utilizing classical white Roman columns and abundant blue-and-white faux blossoms. The floor was covered with a white plush rug, switching to soft warm and bright white lighting, which brought out the fine textures of the costume under natural light. In this scene, I also experimented with seated and side angles.
Christmas Eve happened to be my birthday as well, so this photoshoot also served as a commemoration of this special day. Overall, the contrast between the two scenes worked wonderfully: the underwater section showcased the elongation of the legs and body lines, while the flower field section was great for capturing natural gestures. In post-processing, the main focus was refining the light and shadow on the reflective floor and restoring the pristine cleanliness of the white stockings and pure white outfit within a cool-toned environment, preventing skin tones from being overly tinted by ambient light. The streamers and sleeves showed fantastic tension during wider movements, producing ideal results. The temperature on shooting day was quite low; heartfelt thanks to the friends who helped complete this work from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-.
