[Mudrock cosplay] Arknights Heavy Defender, Cool and Gorgeous

Today I'm sharing the Mudrock cosplay shot during Arknights FES. The overall style of this styling leans towards a rugged wasteland tactical vibe, and the wearing process indeed took a lot of effort. To secure the pair of black sharp horns on top of the head firmly, a complex support structure was built inside the wig. After putting it on, the weight on the head was quite noticeable, but it was precisely these horns that instantly highlighted the character's aura. The platinum blonde long hair needed to be kept smooth; to prevent tangling and frizz, I kept brushing it between shooting breaks, trying to make the hair strands present a naturally falling state.

In terms of clothing, the mesh inner layer of the upper body matched with the metal-textured waist-cinching armor has a relatively high requirement for body fit, which can outline the waistline very well. The outer white cape features an asymmetrical design with red frayed edges at the hem. You need to be careful not to trip over it when walking or posing, but the visual sense of flow is quite strong. The lower body consists of black loose cargo pants, with multiple leather straps bound around the thighs and orange patterns on the side, giving it a strong sense of overall layering. Paired with black platform boots on the feet, it increases the grounded stability of the lower body. To showcase the character's combat attributes, I carefully adjusted the tightness of each strap on the pants, ensuring they wouldn't loosen during large movements while also avoiding restricted blood circulation due to being too tight.

The biggest challenge of cosplaying Mudrock this time actually lay in the massive Warhammer props in my hand. The hammer head part is a solid model with a grid-like geometric raised structure on the surface, making it very heavy. When holding it with one hand to pose on the stage, a lot of core strength was required to control the balance of the center of gravity. In the picture, I tried the action of stepping on a square step with one foot; this posture not only supported the fit of the long pants and elongated the leg lines, but also allowed the cape to fall naturally, better showcasing the details on the side of the pants and the overall aura. To match the character's temperament, reddish-orange tones were used for the eye and lip makeup, adding a slightly dangerous yet charming feel. Under the intense cool-toned spotlights at the venue, the reddish-orange makeup formed a strong visual contrast with the white cape and platinum blonde hair.

The entire shooting background was a dark-toned exhibition wall with display windows and plot text, which fit the character's atmosphere exceptionally well. During the shoot, I kept adjusting the posture of holding the hammer and the angle of my gaze, trying to find a cold yet handsome balance between the heavy weapon and the female character. The lighting at the venue was quite top-down, requiring constant fine-tuning of facial orientation to ensure even lighting on the face. The entire shooting process was also a process of continuous communication and coordination with the photographer, from full-body distant shots to lengthen proportions to half-body close-ups highlighting the sharpness in the eyes; every angle was tried several times. Although holding the hammer the whole time was exhausting, seeing the final photo results made the weight of this prop completely worthwhile.
