This photoshoot for Odette cosplay from Genshin Impact took place inside European-style architecture featuring grand stained-glass windows. The floor was crafted from highly reflective mirrored material, which, paired with the on-site illumination, cast reflections rich with visual depth for our Fantasy style photography session.
The costume details boast extraordinarily rich craftsmanship. The bodice features a halter-neck cut in blue and white, framed around the collar by a ring of white downy fur and accented at the chest and waist with gilded frames and crimson gemstones. The sleeves adopt an asymmetrical blue-and-white gradient fabric paired with ruched navy gloves, contouring the arms with sleek poise. The multi-layered skirt features a luminous gradient blue-and-white outer fabric over an airy white gauze underskirt, trailing two long swallowtail ribbons behind that achieve a magnificent drape in motion. The light-blue wig was intricately braided, crowned with a white bow hairpiece; paired with scarlet lenses and soft pink eye makeup, the overarching aura faithfully aligned with the canonical design. Down below, I wore white tights (Stockings) matched with white Mary Jane heels in this cosplay.
For the first shot, I sat on the floor with my heels kicked off to the side. This was chosen to better showcase the layered contrast between the white Stockings and the voluminous skirt hem, while the casually scattered shoes lent organic naturalism to the composition. Sitting cross-legged with one knee bent gently expanded the wide arc of the skirt, while cupping my cheek with one hand naturally guided the viewer's gaze toward facial expressions and upper-body garment details.
The second shot captured a standing pose glancing back over my shoulder. This vantage point highlighted the backless cutout design and the dynamic flow of the swallowtail ribbons, while the mirrored floor flawlessly reflected the stained glass windows in the background. To accentuate these specular reflections, I deliberately adjusted my stance so the mirrored silhouette emerged crisp and clear across the lower half of the frame.
The third composition embraced a dynamic leaping gesture. Rising onto the tips of my toes with one arm sweeping gracefully upward and the other extending backward, conveying an airy weightlessness before the lens hinged on core abdominal control to sustain stability, while allowing the billowing skirt to amplify dynamic kinetic motion. Although freezing this fleeting instant required countless takes, seeing that immaculate arc captured in the camera made every bit of effort thoroughly worthwhile.
The warm amber radiance filtering through the stained glass windows struck against the cool blue-and-white palette of the wardrobe, forging an intense chromatic contrast. The mirrored floor reflected not only the character, but also the architectural geometry and shimmering flares, dramatically elevating the spatial ambiance. Embodying a dancer is deeply demanding on body language: beyond expansive movements, one must strike an exquisite balance between aloof grace and spirited vitality. Capturing that exact equilibrium was my primary goal throughout this Genshin Impact shoot. The entire team worked in seamless harmony—from costume adjustments to capturing chiaroscuro nuances, it was a truly phenomenal experience.
