[Navia cosplay] The Elegance of Fontaine in Genshin Impact, Frozen in Time with Parasol in Hand

This photo was taken in an indoor studio with very refined lighting, and I personally love the overall atmosphere. The warm golden side-backlight combined with floating golden dust particles added a dreamy and grand aura to the frame, perfectly matching the classic steampunk style of this outfit. During the shoot, the photographer's control of light played a decisive role—highlights fell on the blonde hair and metallic accessories, while shadows beautifully sculpted the layered depth of the attire.

Let's first talk about the details of this costume. The black top hat adorned with blue roses is one of my favorite elements, as it breaks the dullness of the dark hat. Hair management had to be sufficiently voluminous—to recreate the character's hair volume and flowing feel, the wig underwent meticulous styling. Combing through the layers before every shot took quite some time, but seeing the strands shimmer under the light in the photos made it feel completely worth it.

The upper bodice features a dark blue and gold color-blocked vest paired with a white ruffled collar inner layer. The blue gems at the neckline and shoulders serve as a perfect finishing touch, while the patchwork of metal chains and decorative pieces adds substantial texture, keeping the outfit from looking thin. The cuffs are large, frilled lantern sleeves—a design that required careful arm positioning during shooting to avoid looking bulky, but holding this large parasol made it feel much more natural.

The waist design of this look is quite interesting—the golden circular ornament, featuring mechanical elements akin to a compass or gear, perfectly echoes the character's background blend of light industry and classic elegance.

The white mini skirt on the lower half and the long orange-yellow train are equally focal points. The vibrant orange-yellow creates a superb color contrast with the dark blue. The train fabric is exceptionally flowing; to capture its fluttering dynamics during the shoot, we took multiple action shots to ensure the skirt hem and train displayed fluid line movement in frame.

Lastly, I must mention the leg styling. Dark tights paired with gold-trimmed leg garters not only enrich the overall visual layers, but also add a touch of crispness and spirited sharpness to the elegance. During the shoot, I intentionally adjusted my standing pose to fully showcase the details of the legs and garters without disrupting the overall balanced aesthetic.

The held umbrella was the heavyweight prop among accessories this time. The dark blue and orange-yellow color blocking on the canopy echoes the outfit, while yellow ruffled trims along the edges and the rib structure maximize its vintage feel. The moment the parasol was opened, the character's aura emerged completely.

As a photoshoot attempting to restore this character, I believe outfit completeness and atmospheric ambiance are paramount. Although this costume looks filled with numerous layers, wearing it on set was actually not as cumbersome as expected, allowing for fairly free movement and letting me pose more comfortably.

I always feel that a successful Genshin Impact cosplay is not just about putting on clothes and wigs, but more importantly using body language, expressions, and photographic ambiance to allow viewers to immediately sense the character's unique charm and narrative depth. From getting this outfit to the shoot, I kept pondering how to draw closer to the character's splendor, confidence, and elegance through these details. Although controlling skin tones and prop reflections under studio lighting was challenging, the final photos were very satisfying.
