This gothic-style Asuka is truly a brand-new attempt; the moment I saw the design draft, I decided to shoot it. The texture of this outfit is truly amazing; the black lace corset dress not only has a body-hugging tailoring, but the straps and dark patterns in the details also have great texture. To match this dark yet slightly mysterious atmosphere, I deepened the eyeshadow layers in my makeup, wore signature blue contact lenses, and paired it with a black lace headpiece featuring a cross element. The choker and semi-transparent black stockings are also the finishing touches, maximizing the gorgeous yet dangerous tone of gothic style.
The shooting scenes were chosen in three different places. The shot of lying sideways on the metal floor with non-slip texture was mainly to express a lazy yet slightly aggressive feeling, and the stacked books beside added a sense of storytelling to the frame. The cross necklace on the clothes made it easier to focus lines of sight in the lying posture.
My favorite is the set sitting on the carved wooden chair. A large number of burning thick white candles were arranged in the foreground, with warm yellow candlelight hitting the black skirt hem, overflowing the screen with mystery. To enhance the character's aura, I specially took a large silver sword as a prop. This sword is actually quite heavy; holding it with one hand to strike poses requires considerable arm strength, but the contrast captured in the photos is exceptionally brilliant. The details of the stockings and garter straps are displayed just right in the sitting posture, being sexy without looking abrupt.
Finally, the shooting in the study scene leans more towards a quiet atmosphere. Sitting between the wooden bookshelf and the teddy bear doll, whether holding the great sword confronting the lens or holding a book with both hands to read, it feels like showing another state of the character after letting down her guard. The retro kerosene lamp in the study and the ink wash painting in the background also became great background embellishments.
This gothic Asuka styling retains the character's original tsundere feel while adding a hint of mature allure. Body language expression needs attention during the shoot: the lying posture should be relaxed, and holding the sword should be steady. For the black stockings, I chose a style with a matte texture that is not easily snagged, because the shoot involves a lot of leg movements, which is very important. The wig also needs to be smoothed out in advance with care solution to present a nice curve under the light. Although the shooting process was a hassle, seeing the final photos made everything worth it. Dark-style outfits are truly addictive, and next time I want to challenge even more derivative styles of different themes.
