The inner world of the character Shirakiin Ririchiyo is actually extremely rich and contradictory. Rather than expressing herself frankly, she seems more accustomed to hiding her true feelings and arming herself with a spiky exterior. For this shoot, I have been searching for that sense of alienation of being in a deserted realm, simultaneously longing to be understood while fearing being seen through. The scene was chosen in an abandoned building; mottled wall plaster, rusted iron railings, and scattered bricks all over the ground—these dilapidated elements happen to accentuate that lonely atmosphere.
In terms of costume, I chose her classic white ruffled shirt paired with a black double-breasted jumper dress. The collar design of this shirt is exquisite, and the layered lace edges needed to be arranged very neatly to showcase that sense of restraint unique to vintage styles and uniforms. The lower body is paired with black Over-the-knee socks and garter belts; the cross detail on the garter ring is a lovely little highlight of the entire outfit, paired with black laced small leather shoes. Walking around against the backdrop of the ruins brings out a muffled yet firm footstep. To enhance the narrative sense of the frame, I prepared a transparent umbrella. In the dimly lit hallway, the halo refracted through the umbrella surface effectively sets off that secret aura in a deserted place.
In terms of makeup, I intentionally deepened the blush color and wore blue-gray-toned circle lenses, wanting to create a doll-like exquisite yet devoid-of-real-emotion exterior. During the shoot, I constantly reminded myself to mind my body control. Leaning sideways against the rusted stair railing, or standing with an umbrella by the abandoned railway tracks, my gaze shouldn't be too direct, carrying a bit of wariness and evasion. When the sunlight hit my body through the dilapidated window, I would lower my head slightly, extend the umbrella handle, and use the umbrella's shadow to block half my face, revealing only light-colored eyes, attempting to capture that state of wanting to hide oneself. Additionally, for the prone posture on the folding table, I wanted to express a sense of exhaustion after letting down my guard, with long hair falling naturally, conveying inner turbulence with the quietest posture. This is a visual exploration of the character's inner world, hoping to convey that carefully hidden true feeling through the lens to those who see the photos.
