Participating in the Beijing MiHoYo Only Doujin Exhibition as a Convention experience officer this time, the white and blue angel style outfit I prepared beforehand finally had the opportunity to debut at the event. Today, I mainly want to share the design details of this styling and some creative nuances during the shoot.
First, regarding the outfit: pure white serves as the primary base tone, complemented by light blue bowties and waist strapping accents. The strapping and metal buckle design across the chest are very dimensional; the waist features open cutout and backless tailoring, and the hem has an asymmetrical cut that flutters open naturally when walking. The puffy sleeves on my arms and the white feather wings prop on my back form the visual centerpiece of the styling. For the wig, I chose short pink hair, paired with pointed elf ears and a blue-and-white ribbon hairpiece, with a blue choker holding a star pendant around my neck—these detailed embellishments enrich the overall look. For the lower half, I wore semi-sheer white Over-the-knee socks; while this material reflects light slightly before the lens, it also beautifully accentuates and flatters the leg contours.
The set arrangement on the day of shooting was exceptionally thoughtful. To harmonize with the wing elements, the photographer specially prepared white feather props, creating the visual effect of falling feathers on site. With a deep blue background and spotlights beaming down, the entire scene presented a dreamy, magical stage presence. During shooting, postures needed continuous adjustment: extending arms outward, with side angles better displaying the backless cut and waistline of the dress, while making the layering of the Over-the-knee socks and the skirt stand out more vividly. The feathers drifted down quickly, requiring coordinated snaps with the photographer that truly tested instant physical expressiveness.
Strolling around the indoor venue of over 4,500 square meters as a Convention experience officer, the atmosphere on site was incredibly enthusiastic. Although this outfit is gorgeous, the wing props in the back are quite wide, demanding extra care when moving through crowds to avoid bumping into other attendees. The straps of the outfit also needed frequent checking to maintain a snug fit. I saw many dedicated outfits at this convention, with everyone exchanging shooting tips under the lights; the entire environment was brimming with the vitality of anime culture and Anime-style photography.
This white and blue angel style styling is distinctive in color contrast and material pairing; combined with on-site feathers and lighting, the final photo quality was thoroughly satisfying. I deeply enjoyed documenting these scenes at the convention, and I look forward to bringing more creative concepts to life through Anime-style photography and the lens in the future.
