That day was originally intended for a serious photoshoot, but because I brought along a bubble machine, the whole shoot turned into a massive bubble-blowing game. I mixed the bubble solution myself, specifically adding fragrance and carefully balancing the water ratio for quite a while. Unexpectedly, whenever the wind blew, bubbles plastered right across my face; though they blocked my vision, the sweet scent was wonderful, and the entire process was filled with laughter.

This outdoor shoot took place mainly across malls, open-air steps, and subway stations. Wearing a blue-and-white Maid outfit paired with white Over-the-knee socks made full-body compositions very flattering. Especially in the standing shots on the subway platform: just tightening the calves slightly and shifting weight back a tiny bit sculpted flattering leg lines. The overhead platform light hit the socks directly, making them gleam brightly. The low-angle shots looking up under the streetlamp were actually quite exhausting—having to keep my head tilted up while keeping facial expressions composed, making sure not to look directly into the harsh light, but angling slightly away to avoid squinting. The photographer was constantly calling out adjustments to my positioning, tweaking back and forth multiple times to match the lighting before finding the ideal angle.

When sitting on the steps, because the skirt hem was so voluminous, the slightest carelessness would crush it into unflattering folds. I had to angle my torso sideways as much as possible, letting the skirt drape downward while utilizing the depth of the stairs for composition. In the shots eating food at the mall, I was genuinely eating! The gesture of being fed with a spoon was requested by the photographer—asking him to feed me teasingly while I kept a focused gaze on the lens, creating that casual atmosphere of an impromptu candid snapshot caught in a restaurant. With the bubble machine continuously blowing nearby, I had to use my hands to shield the skirt and props from bubbles whenever I could, keeping busy yet thoroughly entertained.

Shooting inside the mall had one tricky aspect: strong glass reflections. We tested several angles to avoid reflecting the photographer and bystanders, otherwise the shot would look cluttered. Wearing such a wide flared skirt, I wore two layers of safety shorts underneath so I could pose boldly without wardrobe concerns. The white stockings were somewhat sheer and delicate, so I had to be careful not to snag on nearby greenery while walking, which could easily cause runs, keeping my steps measured.

Because it had rained earlier that day, the open-air steps were still somewhat damp, requiring careful stepping. At night, artificial lights abound with mixed color temperatures; in color grading, I deliberately desaturated the tones so the blue-and-white dress looked cleaner and crisper, while preserving the warm amber glow of streetlamps to contrast against the cool background. The light striking the fabric against the night backdrop yielded great texture. Finding angles in everyday spots like this is far more fun than posing stiffly in a studio.

The shoot covered several locations and numerous poses, wrapping up smoothly while having fun. The finished photos feel full of life without feeling like rigid posed shots. Though tired afterward, running around night streets and malls with a bubble machine was a truly rare and delightful experience. I look forward to having such relaxed, enjoyable photoshoot sessions again.
