[Theresa Cosplay] Quiet Moments in Arknights: Bouquet and White Dress

The moment I stepped in front of the camera, I deliberately slowed my breathing. This white ruffled dress with Western-style styling, paired with a long pearl necklace, was the most painstaking part of restoring Theresa's look—the layered pleats at the neckline and the lace edges on the cuffs were adjusted repeatedly. The wig was specially made with a silver-white gradient; the crown's curve and the dark hair accessories beside the ears required hair wax and clips to hold in place for a long time to achieve a natural drape. Putting on black gloves, I held up this bouquet assembled from white roses, yellow roses, and green foliage, gently crossing my fingers so the stems wouldn't slip in my gloves.

During the shoot, the lighting technician used only a soft top light, casting shadows along the side of my face and eyelashes to emphasize the character's quiet, distant, yet tender quality. In truth, the dress had a very tight waist, making it a bit hard to breathe after standing for a while, but I loved the feeling of being completely enveloped by the character. As for makeup, I skipped heavy eyeliner and used light brown eyeshadow blended into the socket along with long false eyelashes to make my gaze appear more dreamy and distant. For lip color, I chose a nearly nude matte lip glaze to unify with the overall cool tone of the white dress.

Throughout the shoot, I kept imagining Theresa's state in the story—that feeling of being about to say goodbye yet reluctant to leave. So instead of looking at the camera on purpose, I lowered my head to gaze at the flowers, letting the emotion flow naturally. In post-processing, we avoided heavy skin smoothing, preserving skin texture and fabric folds, because authenticity matters more than perfection in cosplay.

Whenever I cosplay a character with a rich backstory, I spend a lot of time studying the original visual settings and character mindsets. The world of Arknights is deep and heavy. Although Theresa's design as a 2D character is relatively simple, the contrast in fabric textures and the placement of accessories are extremely refined. I took this bouquet and costume to several venues, ultimately selecting this dark-toned background because dark tones make the white dress and strands of hair stand out more.

If you like this style of dramatic lighting, you can actually achieve a similar effect at home using a spotlight with soft light paper. As for the bouquet arrangement, pairing main white flowers with yellow-green accents adds vibrancy without being monotonous. The shooting experience went very smoothly this time. Thanks to the photographer's patience and my partner's help in adjusting the back skirt train. I will continue to polish more details, hoping that every presentation conveys my dedication to players who love this character.
