Today's set of photos was shot in the Huizhou amm venue, overall adopting a black-and-white Techwear cosplay style. To match the blue hair with pink highlighted styling, I specially chose fluffy cat ears and a huge blue tail. The visual focus of this outfit lies in the material contrast between the glossy leather jacket and the white over-the-knee long socks, coupled with those black high-heeled short boots with gold heels, which have great tension in front of the lens. The prop is a broad-bladed sword with a blue fluorescent effect, and there is also a pink cat paw sticker on the hilt, adding a little playfulness to the cool style. The lighting at the shooting site is actually quite complex; the dense circular ceiling lights at the top of the venue formed nice light spots after being blurred, which added a lot of difficulty to photographer OUKAI's lighting setup. Because the leather jacket is a reflective material, it was necessary to constantly adjust the body angle during shooting, otherwise an excessively large reflection area would not only eat up the costume's details but also make the image look very flat. To highlight the outline of the costume, many actions required maintaining a large range, such as squatting and single-knee kneeling postures; not only must the center of gravity not fall, but the lines of the back and legs must also be fully stretched out. When holding that giant sword, you have to imagine the weight of the sword and the force-applying method of a 2D character, but after all, it's a prop, so you must control your strength when swinging the sword and not actually get carried away by it. During the sitting posture shooting segment, crossing the legs or stretching them naturally was aimed at showcasing the wrapping feel of the White tights cosplay and the details of the shoes. Since the White tights cosplay and the black costume formed a strong contrast, presenting the leg lines became very crucial when shooting this type of photo. Sometimes to find the perfect light-and-shadow angle, a pose had to be frozen for a long time until the leg muscles started to ache. The cat ear hair accessories on top of the head and the black cat mask also needed constant position adjustments under the lighting to prevent leaving strange shadows on the face, while coordinating with the gaze—sometimes cool, sometimes making cute cat paw gestures. The actions referenced some classic sword-holding and posing postures in anime, such as standing on one leg and holding the sword with both hands for defense; these contrast feelings were all displayed through body language. Because the wig is very long, it easily tangles or flies around during action transitions, so before every shutter click, I had to quickly tidy up the hairstyle to ensure the hair strands presented the best state. Although this leather outfit looks cool and heroic, wearing it for a long time moving around in the exhibition hall is actually quite stuffy. Throughout the entire shoot, the physical stamina consumption was quite large, but looking at those tension-filled frames on the monitor, everything felt completely worth it. Packing up props and costumes, I'm ready for the post-processing retouching work.
