[Shirasu Azusa cosplay] Blue Archive: Swimsuit Azusa Beachwear Feature

This time, I'm presenting the swimsuit version of Shirasu Azusa from Blue Archive, commonly known as Swimsuit Azusa. From referencing fan illustrations to realizing the physical costume, a lot of thought went into adjusting the details of this cosplay outfit. The entire ensemble focuses on a crisp, refreshing summer vibe. The exterior features a semi-sheer, white vertically striped long cover-up with light blue ruffles spliced at the cuffs and hem, creating a gentle fluttering motion when walking. Underneath is a pink-and-blue color-blocked two-piece bow swimsuit with fine ruffles along the hem, accented by a dark blue decorative bow for rich visual layering.

For the headpieces, the left side features a bright yellow ribbon paired with blue-violet flowers, while the right side is adorned with a large magenta bow with white polka dots. The long white wig faithfully recreates her iconic look with layered trimming to prevent it from looking overly bulky, achieving a satisfying level of luster. To complement the waterside theme, I paired it with white over-the-knee socks for a white stockings cosplay look, which visually elongates the leg line and lends the overall silhouette a light, breathable feel in outdoor settings.

The shoot took place indoors in front of a floor-length mirror. Despite constraints in lighting and angles, this styling involves numerous accessories—such as the drape of the loose sleeves and the alignment between inner and outer layers—which required repeated fine-tuning in front of the mirror to achieve the most natural drape without displacement or bunching. Referencing the illustrator's artwork, I strove to recreate that sunlit summer atmosphere and immerse myself in the character's serene demeanor.

When it comes to cosplay, I place high value on detail. From the texture and drape of the cover-up stripes to minor points like avoiding pinch marks on the socks or ensuring headpiece angles don't disrupt facial contours, every aspect directly impacts the final visual result. In recreating costumes and props, I strive for authentic textures matching the original design—aiming closely for the tones and lighting of the illustration even if absolute 100% replication is challenging. While this Swimsuit Azusa look is very indoor-friendly, taking it outdoors means the flowing ribbons and long hem might easily catch dust or flutter in the wind, which is something to consider for future location shoots.

Swimsuit Azusa has a distinctly crisp and unique aura, and completing this swimwear shoot felt like a wonderful kickoff to summer. Preparing this outfit deepened my understanding of the character—not just her external styling, but also capturing her personality.
