Sitting in the relaxation area on Day 2 of Firefly ACG Expo, taking advantage of a brief lull in the crowd, I opened my photo album to flip through this morning's photos. This time, I tried out the yukata outfit version of Asuma Toki. The blue halo atop my head kept fogging up due to the temperature difference between inside and outside the venue, but fortunately, we wiped it clean right before shooting, achieving a clear, translucent texture. The lighting along the elevated corridor was fantastic; the soft natural diffuse light meant we didn't need many reflector boards. Right from the character selection stage, I was eager to try a light-colored look. The light blue lightweight yukata paired with a white ruffled collar, featuring a small white plush ball on the bow tie that swayed gently with each step, added a touch of playful charm. The black-and-white checkerboard wide obi belt at the waist served as the visual focal point of the entire ensemble, which, paired with gold braided cords and tassels, anchored the light blue and white base with a sense of weight to prevent the outfit's colors from looking overly floaty.
The white tights completely wrapped my legs; since I was sitting on a beige leather bench with my toes lightly tapping the ground, it elongated the overall proportion of my lower body. As for props, holding the long, slender pipe in my fingers—though prone to slipping when set down—perfectly softened the cold, aloof glare in my eyes. The shooting process was actually very relaxed. The photographer captured snapshots from the far end of the hallway using a medium-telephoto lens, maintaining a natural distance so I wouldn't feel constrained. Rather than chasing complex dynamic movements, this set leaned into a quiet, frozen moment. Sitting on the bench with legs crossed naturally, holding the pipe while leaning slightly forward, and gazing past the camera lens expressed the character's calm composure along with a hint of mystery.
During the shoot, I also switched to a pose resting my chin on my hand, allowing my body to relax slightly so that the cozy feeling of enjoying solo downtime at an ACG expo flowed out naturally. Under this natural light, the blue halo atop my head gleamed with a subtle luster, harmonizing seamlessly with the color tones of the entire outfit. Speaking of which, this was already my third outfit shoot of the day; the ropes around my waist actually started to pinch after a while, but I toughed it out for the sake of the photos. Whenever we weren't shooting, I stretched my legs out, letting my feet clad in white tights rest completely against the tiled floor to relieve the fatigue of standing all morning. Many passing expo visitors glanced over curiously, and that sense of recognition and love is precisely what drives me to keep cosplaying.
Regarding post-processing, I preserved much of the venue's natural environment—such as the metal railings and glass reflections behind me, as well as the street architecture in the distance—giving the background space room to breathe rather than completely blurring it out. Many people think white tights and light-colored attire are hard to pull off because they can look flat, but in ample lighting, relying on the material contrasts of the garment itself actually yields wonderful dimensional depth. It was quite windy today, blowing my wig out of place several times, though thankfully the bangs styling held up well. After wrapping up, sitting on a large sofa while watching the crowds go by, Day 2 of the expo definitely felt livelier than Day 1. This was my first time interpreting Asuma Toki through a light blue yukata outfit, retaining her signature crisp freshness while infusing a touch of Japanese style languor and elegance. Although there are still minor details in props and attire that could be refined, the overall level of completion fully met my expectations. Selecting these photos serves as a satisfying closing note to today's Firefly ACG Expo trip.
