[Touhou Project] Remilia Scarlet cosplay & Flandre Scarlet cosplay: Feast of the Red Apple and Black Wings

From the moment we held the red apple and spear, this Touhou Project shoot was destined to be filled with dramatic tension. For the photo set shared today, we put a lot of effort into both costume preparation and venue selection.

First, regarding attire: to make the complex lace and ruffles of both Lolita fashion dresses stand out three-dimensionally, we spent considerable time tidying skirt hems and neck decorations before shooting. One featured a blue-and-white color scheme with pearl chains, while the other paired black and red with a cross pendant—just decomposing neck accessory layers required several trial schemes. Furthermore, both of us wore different stocking textures—one in pure white over-the-knee socks and the other in black lace fishnets, bringing out White and black stockings contrast that in itself was fascinating.

Shooting took place in two drastically different settings. First was the outdoor white stone steps, where abundant sunlight poured over us, clearly capturing the sheer mesh texture of skirt hems and wing skeletal structures. The red apple held in hand became the visual center of that moment; light reflecting on the apple's surface added an extra touch of mystery to the frame.

We then moved to the indoor grand hall. Compared to outdoors, the indoor environment was dim, with chandeliers emitting warm yellow light, making marble floor reflections a finishing touch. Clear reflections on the ground echoed with the characters, pairing with ornate vaulted ceilings to give the set a sense of solemnity. As for props, beyond the apple and red spear, the colorful crystal block wand held by the blonde ponytail character for Flandre Scarlet cosplay and later a teddy bear added a relaxed vibe to the visuals.

In terms of pose guidance, we selected postures fitting original settings without feeling forced. Whether looking at the apple while seated or standing full-length holding respective weapons, both poses demonstrated tacit synergy between us. The photographer maintained highly efficient coordination with us, and the final rendered imagery truly met our expectations.

As a thoroughly prepared shoot, recreating every detail—from makeup and character hairstyles to costume accessories—was where the fun lay. This is precisely why I love doing cosplay: drawing closer to characters through attire while interpreting them through imagery. I hope this classical magnificence, infused with subtle gothic tones and playful childlike elements, reaches everyone viewing these photos.
