Today, the crowd flow in the venue on Anime Expo Day3 was even larger than the previous two days, but being able to successfully wait for Teacher Xiaocai in the vast sea of people and take a group photo makes this Los Angeles Anime Expo trip truly worthwhile. Teacher Huang Jingxiang's facial features are truly extremely three-dimensional with a super strong camera presence, and I was a bit nervous standing next to him for the photo. This time, for attending the convention and taking photos, I prepared a Red and white dress styling; the large bright red bow on top of my head and the ruffled lace on the cuffs were all hand-sewn by myself, hoping to present the best visual effect. The Black uniform style worn by Teacher Xiaocai paired with a red shirt, along with the silver shoulder tassels and the metal badge on the hat, had a fantastic texture. Standing together, the visual tension directly maxed out. We found a relatively evenly lit corner at the convention site. Since the overhead lighting inside convention venues is usually quite complex and easily casts weird shadows on the face, I deliberately adjusted the phone's angle when taking Anime convention selfies, shooting slightly from below to make the jawline look clear while framing the gorgeous silver prop structures in the background. Walking around the convention today, my biggest feeling is that current cosplay costumes and props are becoming increasingly competitive. Everyone not only focuses on the accuracy of the costume, but even the wig styling and makeup details are extremely meticulous. To achieve a good effect this time, I started skin management a week in advance, choosing a foundation with high coverage yet lightweight and breathable properties. Because the venue was crowded and stuffy, making it easy to sweat and ruin the makeup, I reapplied the setting spray several times. For the makeup, to match the overall red tone, the eye makeup was also blended with reddish shades, paired with natural eyelashes to make the eyes look more vibrant. The night before, the wig was repeatedly managed with hairspray and a straightener to ensure the bangs wouldn't split during the rushing around at the convention. To keep the posture natural during shooting, shoulders and neck were relaxed, turning slightly sideways and tucking the chin in. Although the V-sign gesture in hand was simple, it presented a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere in front of the lens. The material of this dress is relatively crisp, so when standing, you need to pay attention to keeping your back straight to support the overall aura. The venue layout for this convention was also very thoughtful, with art installations featuring a silver metallic texture in the background, along with some purple-blue floral arrangements as accents, which happened to form a visual contrast with our red, black, and white colored costumes. Taking photos in densely populated areas requires not only quickly finding a good angle, but also being careful not to affect other participating fans. We adjusted our standing positions about two or three times to completely retain those sci-fi and dreamy background elements while avoiding the crowds. In fact, every time I do cosplay, the happiest part is not just the final photo effect, but the entire preparation process. From conceiving the pattern of the costume, selecting suitable fabrics, meticulously polishing accessories, to waking up early to put on makeup and wearing the wig that morning, the whole process is full of a sense of achievement. Especially meeting fellow fans at a large-scale convention like today, gaining recognition, and even taking a group photo with a creator I usually follow—this positive feedback is an important driving force that keeps me loving this hobby. Teacher Xiaocai's state is truly fantastic, with effortless expressiveness in front of the lens; that calmness and professionalism are aspects I need to continue learning. The accessories of today's styling are actually quite heavy, especially the large red bow on the head, which needed to be secured firmly with small hairpins to maintain a perfect shape while walking and taking photos. The neckline and cuffs of the clothes have meticulous embroidery and lace edges; to avoid staining these details, I was extra careful during breaks and meals. Walking around the convention all day resulted in significant physical exhaustion and very sore feet, but seeing this group photo on my phone made all the fatigue vanish into thin air.
