[Guizhong Cosplay] Genshin Impact: Guangzhou miyoSummer Outdoor Convention Photos Log

This shoot at Guangzhou miyoSummer brought me many fresh experiences during this Photography in Guangzhou session. While preparing the makeup and styling for this Guizhong cosplay, I did extensive research on the character's serene and elegant nature. Especially for the wig's front bangs and sideburns, to keep them voluminous with a natural drape, I padded the roots with hair extension pieces and heat-set them, ensuring the style wouldn't collapse due to wind or sweat outdoors. The blue geometric hair clip accessory might look simple, but I actually used four bobby pins to keep it firmly secured in place.

As for the outfit's fabric, this blue-and-white starry skirt hem involved time-consuming craftsmanship, using several layers of chiffon with gradient dye to ensure the studded star spots glisten like crushed diamonds under outdoor light. The halter-neck cut leaves generous space for the collarbone and shoulder line; I specifically highlighted my collarbone before applying body makeup so the light and shadow could better accentuate the character's graceful, cool physique. The oversized detachable sleeves look stunning, though they required constant attention to their positioning while walking or posing. While a bit troublesome, the flowy dynamic motion captured in the end made it completely worth it.

For the makeup, I selected highly translucent light gray-blue contact lenses paired with low-saturation blue-gray shimmer eyeshadow, complementing the hair color while keeping the eye makeup from looking heavy or puffy. For lips, I chose a moisturizing pale pink to balance the overall cool tone with a touch of gentle warmth. The prop brush had great texture with highly accurate tassel and lacquer painting details; holding this brush, I tried various poses—such as lightly touching my jawline or placing it behind my neck—giving the static frame a sense of narrative depth.

During this outdoor photoshoot, the weather was actually quite hot. Wearing the thick halter collar outdoors felt very stifling, causing a bit of heat rash on the back of my neck, but seeing the light and shadow texture in the final pictures made all the hardship fade away. The photographer specifically chose stone railings along a waterfront corridor as the setting, taking advantage of the soft diffused light on a cloudy day. Distant city skyscrapers and water ripples were blurred by a wide-aperture lens into rich background color blocks, which didn't steal the character's visual focus but rather added a sense of quiet serenity to the entire set.

The leg styling features an asymmetrical structural design: the left leg wears blue stockings speckled with starry particles, while the right leg is left bare, paired with clear-strap stiletto sandals to elongate body proportions. While posing, I intentionally crossed my legs and stood slightly on tiptoes to enhance the visual illusion of length. Since the sandals were relatively light, I had to be extra careful walking on stone paths outdoors to prevent slipping; thankfully, the ground around the railings was fairly flat.

Post-processing for these Convention photos was actually quite restrained. Since lighting was captured accurately on set, post-production only needed subtle color correction to remove yellow tones and brighten shadows, keeping the overall frame focused on clarity and transparency. I'm thrilled to fully present this work at this event, marking one of my most meticulously prepared outdoor cosplay shoots recently.
