[Ram cosplay] Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Angel Ram

Bringing the Angel Ram concept to life took roughly a week from initial prep to final image processing. To elevate the dreamy etherealism of this concept, we adopted a high-key photography style throughout the session, focusing primarily on resolving the challenge of white garments blending into a white backdrop.

The wig was custom-dyed in vibrant light pink, with meticulous attention paid to the curve of the bangs and sidelocks during cutting. To balance a playful charm with sacred poise before the lens, the wig was styled with airy lift rather than sitting flat against the scalp. The halo prop was engineered using acrylic tubing lined with high-output LED strips, anchored to a head mount via a slender, transparent support rod that was cleanly painted out in post-production.

The white dress made generous use of flowing chiffon and delicate lace, featuring an off-the-shoulder cut that introduced airy lightness to the silhouette. Intricate bow accents adorned the detached sleeves and neckline. Mounted on my back, the angel wings were molded from lightweight latex; while easy to carry, their broad wingspan required careful angle adjustments during seated poses to prevent them from being occluded by my torso.

On set, we deployed three high-output strobes, all fitted with oversized softboxes, facing a pure white, seamless backdrop paper. Because both the wardrobe and the backdrop were entirely white, spot metering became our most critical technical task. To safeguard the lace borders and fabric pleats from washing out, I repeatedly recalibrated camera exposure during test shots, ensuring ample dimensional modeling across my face and attire while pushing the background right to the threshold of overexposure to yield a pure, luminous aesthetic.

Two teddy bears were staged on set—a classic brown bear and a white one tied with ribbons. Far from mere set dressing, they provided diverse physical interaction points: cradling them close or scattering them nearby to infuse the composition with warmth and narrative intimacy. Vintage teacups and cake props echoed the leisurely charm of an afternoon tea, grounding the scene in approachable, slice-of-life comfort.

Stepping barefoot onto the plush faux-fur rug allowed my toes to flex naturally, offering far greater physical relaxation than wearing stilettos. While posing, I focused on fluid extensions—raising an arm or softly crossing my legs—to preserve an agile, weightless silhouette. While Ram is widely perceived as blunt and sharp-tongued, this angel concept allowed me to convey her tender, vulnerable inner warmth through gentle body language. That unexpected contrast is precisely where the creative thrill of cosplay lies.

Wrapping up this shoot left me thoroughly delighted with the results. The high-key aesthetic transformed the frames into a waking dream, and I hope this collection brings a quiet sense of serenity to everyone who views it.
