The photoshoot for these Convention photos at Hypergryph Fes 2026 went very smoothly, so it's time to organize this set of summer-themed photos and talk about the details behind the shoot.

Seeing my look on site, familiar friends can tell at a glance that it comes from the Heart of Surging Flame summer concept. To fit this lighthearted and lively beach vacation vibe, I specifically chose a red-and-white plaid off-the-shoulder crop top paired with washed denim shorts, which displays a cool summer feel without affecting my movement throughout the day at the venue. The bright blue printed choker on my neck and the blue thigh ring on my right thigh serve as visual anchors for the entire look, instantly breathing character soul into basic pieces like plaid and denim. The hat isn't an ordinary straw hat—sheer, glossy light blue ribbons are tied to both sides, fluttering gracefully when the wind blows or while walking, which, together with the fluffy beast ears on top of my head, truly brings the 2D charm into the 3D world.

As for makeup, I chose a clear, natural base paired with light blue contact lenses featuring a subtle blue smudge, along with generous blush to create a vibe full of energy. What particularly satisfied me was my nail polish, which I intentionally painted bright blue. This small detail formed a very harmonious visual echo when holding that small pink-and-blue fan. The wig texture was great, and the gradient blue treatment at the tips added rich layering in front of the lens or under natural light.

When shooting this set of photos, the convention environment actually presented quite a challenge for getting good shots. The lighting inside the hall was very complex, with overhead lights, floor lights, and various flashing screens. Shooting directly would easily make skin tones look yellow or the background cluttered. Working with the photographer, we used a speedlite with a softbox mounted on the camera with high-speed sync enabled. This allowed us to hit the shutter anytime in the hall. The flash emitted a bright key light from the front-side upward, which not only darkened the cluttered background booths and crowds, but also cleanly highlighted the skin texture and costume details of the character.

In pose design, we didn't deliberately pursue heavy posing, but leaned toward capturing natural moments of playing around. For example, holding up the fan with one hand, sitting there making a simple V-sign gesture, or sitting cross-legged on an inflatable prop with hands resting on my knees. In the third pose sitting down, I didn't forcibly pose, but sat there very relaxed, allowing the decorative elements on my body—like long ribbons, thigh rings, and beast ears—to present themselves naturally. This sense of relaxation actually fits the lazy, free feel of the summer seaside very well.

As a large offline event, the atmosphere at Hypergryph Fes was truly electric. When you see so many fellow fans gathering on site for the same passion, the experience of immersing yourself in character is incomparable. During the shoot, I also tried my best to capture that gentle yet firm quality in Amiya. Although this outfit looks very light, it also hides many character-exclusive marks.

Finally, regarding post-production, our approach was likewise focused on restoring what was seen on site. In color tuning, we preserved the freshness of red and blue colors while gently retouching skin to ensure hard flash lighting didn't look overly harsh. This image quality preserved the clarity of cosplay portraits while carrying a soft atmospheric feel characteristic of convention photos. I feel this set of photos is one of my more satisfying convention photo experiences recently. It not only left a clear mark in the bustling convention, but also added a touch of summer brightness thanks to outfit color schemes and prop interaction.
