Securing the Kemonomimi cosplay ear accessories was another challenge—ensuring they stayed firmly in place without sliding, avoiding shadows that might disrupt facial contours, and keeping the orange zigzag trim on both sides symmetrical to maximize her playful cuteness from the lore.

For the outfit, I selected a white short-sleeved athletic tee with dark navy piping on the collar and cuffs, fitting the school ambiance. In terms of props, beyond the orange lanyard ID card around the neck, the blue-bottled sports drink served as a great thematic accent. In discussions with the photographer, I wanted to evoke a relaxed, post-P.E. class break feeling. This inspired various sitting and side-profile poses—like raising the card with a gentle smile toward the camera in the first photo, which showcased the signature accessory while interacting engagingly with the lens.

The kneeling pose in Photo 3 was also fun: holding the water bottle before my chest in a relaxed yet curved posture beautifully accentuated the frame between the gym shorts and White stockings. Against a solid background, lighting had to be exceptionally even to prevent harsh shadows. The photographer used multi-angle softboxes for smooth shadow gradients across cheeks and neck, allowing facial expressions to look natural. The benefit of a studio cosplay shoot is remaining unaffected by weather while easily fine-tuning positions and angles until capturing the perfect snapshot.

Regarding my interpretation of the character, Mari is cheerful, positive, and loves cheering others on. Additionally, with the rich visual elements of the wig and Kemonomimi cosplay ears, I kept the makeup clean with subtle eyeshadow and natural lips, focusing on elongated eyeliner for a bright, pure gaze.

Seeing the final photos, the entire collaboration from styling to photography was seamless. The pure white backdrop and blue-and-white athletic wear formed a pleasing contrast. In any cosplay shoot, the most enjoyable part is immersing oneself entirely in character and thinking through poses from their perspective.
