"So you ran away right when I cast my ult, huh? Why are you dodging my heals! Tell me!"
BW Day 2 is over, and I finally have time to organize the convention photos taken this time. This look was incredibly eye-catching at the convention. Even though this line is highly relatable and painful for support players, in the ACG world, a healer just has to chase teammates all over the map to heal them, no matter how fast they run. But looking at the playful smile in the photos, it really fits the saying "messing with me is like kicking cotton"—meaning I'm just too soft and cute to actually stay angry.
The inspiration for the poses in these convention photos came from a blogger's picture. I wandered around the convention venue and felt that specific pose was exceptionally suitable for such a lively and playful character. Unfortunately, I scrolled through my phone and couldn't find the original source. Friends who know can help me @ the original creator in the comments section; a belated thank you here!
What's memorable is that this is my first time attempting to create a hair flow texture for the wig styling by myself. Previously, wigs were either too flat against the scalp or the strands were too rigid, lacking airiness. This time, I used several wig pieces of different lengths, hand-trimmed the layers, and used hairspray to adjust the root angles bit by bit to style the strands into a naturally cascading and fluffy state. Although it took longer than expected, the moment I put it on my head brought a full sense of accomplishment. Retaining the large-arced 2D bangs while treating the height of the crown and the messy hair strands naturally eliminated any plastic feel. I'm quite satisfied with the results, feeling like I found the trick all on my own.
For the eye makeup, to complement this bright blue hair and blue colored contacts, I swept a large area of blush under the eyes to create a slightly flushed and vibrant atmosphere. The costume is this yellow-and-green gradient dress, leaving the neck and collarbone exposed, making it refreshing and lightweight for summer shooting. The inherently wide sleeves are incredibly photogenic; whether it's the weightlessness of standing on one leg holding flowers or casually placing hands on the waist while holding the sleeves left and right, it brings out the flowing and agile feel of the attire. The accompanying white mechanical horn-like headpiece, though large in size, was secured quite well and offers high recognition for the overall styling.
The crowd size at the convention venue was still massive, but this outfit looks exceptionally translucent in color under the sunshine or the harsh convention lights. The photographers were all very enthusiastic, with shutter clicks echoing continuously. Alternating between bare feet and slippers during the shoot, though the soles of my feet were a bit tired by the end of the day, presenting such vivid convention photos made it feel completely worth it. Especially the last shot standing there with hands on my waist—I felt fully integrated into this character's healing yet slightly proud personality.
The charm of shooting convention photos probably lies in freezing these moments full of vitality. The replication of the clothing and wig is merely a foundation; delivering the purity inherent to the character through body language and expressions is the most interesting part. The coordination of makeup, hair, and clothing reached a very comfortable balance in this shoot. Being able to interpret and recreate this style in my own way made it a truly joyful convention experience.
