[Cheshire Cosplay] The Gorgeous and Elegant Ojou-sama of Azur Lane: Garden Tea Party Photoshoot

Shooting the Azure Sky series for Azur Lane's Cheshire this time around, the overall blue-and-white palette felt remarkably crisp and luminous. The dramatic white wide-brimmed hat is layered in cascades of lace, decorated with blue blossoms and long ribbons—it carries an intense visual impact, exquisitely crafted and exceptionally photogenic. The core outfit is an off-the-shoulder corset dress featuring white crisscross ribbons and dimensional blue florets on the bodice, while the lower skirt combines multi-layered tulle with sheer dark blue streamers, showing off magnificent dimension whether walking or seated. To match the costume, I chose blue contact lenses alongside silver-grey bangs and cyan-blue short hair, adding pink blush to capture the character's signature blend of cool detachment and feline allure. Since the dress itself is quite intricate, I opted for a pearl necklace with sapphire accents and a lace choker—enhancing neck detail without overpowering the outfit.

The bouquet of white roses and blue blooms, along with the white lace folding fan in another shot, served as great interactive props, providing steady anchor points whenever I was unsure how to pose. In the studio set crafted by @滔滔摄影棚, adorned with blue-and-white floral arrangements and classical railings, the lighting was diffused very softly; the cool ambient light gave the skin a translucent, porcelain texture. @蛇生伊夕 provided thorough posing guidance behind the lens—from tight close-ups holding the bouquet to a full-body composition sitting cross-legged on the plush rug, and seated side angles showcasing leg lines, striving to strike an exact balance between elegance and sensuality. Details like the blue thigh ribbons and lace gloves were also emphasized, pairing with silver-grey pointed heels to further amplify the 2D aesthetic.

This shoot was actually quite an endurance test, especially balancing in high heels on the sofa and rug while keeping the core tight to preserve a graceful posture. To maintain the skirt's full volume, I wore multiple petticoats underneath, requiring careful adjustment every time I sat down. Overall, we pushed for breakthroughs in color coordination and set staging; the cool-toned photography paired with this blue wardrobe delivered a texture that met all our expectations. During pre-shoot prep, adjusting the wig's layers and pinning that massive hat took considerable time—the hat was heavy and required plenty of bobby pins. For the makeup, we softened contrast to align with the blue-and-white palette: a light grey-blue base on the lids, glitter on the outer corners, followed by mascara. A dewy peach lip color brought a healthy glow against cool porcelain skin and blue fabric.

In terms of posing direction, because the dress features abundant lace and tulle, highlighting the weightlessness of the fabrics was key. The photographer guided me through walking and turning movements to capture the natural drape of the skirt. For sitting poses, perching sideways on a white cushion with one knee bent and the other leg dangling extended the leg lines while displaying the heel and ankle details. Another shot sitting cross-legged on the plush rug aimed to showcase the circular spread of the skirt, with bare feet lending a cozy, intimate vibe. We designed several variations with the bouquet as well, ranging from looking down to inhale the scent to gazing straight into the lens, each evoking a different mood. The final shot holding the folding fan across my lower face is a personal favorite: against the cool background, the white fan and lace glove become a clear focal point, balancing the composition.

The set at @滔滔摄影棚 was meticulously styled—the blue-and-white florals, white plush rug, and distant classical balustrades and chandelier infused the space with dreaminess. The gaffer also did wonders: high-key illumination minimized deep shadows, lending a breezy, translucent feel that matched the color story. Pulling off this shoot smoothly owes everything to the teamwork involved—from the makeup artist's precision and the photographer's framing to the assistants adjusting skirts and handing props, everyone was thoroughly professional. As someone passionate about 2D culture, expressing a beloved character through fashion and camera language is always deeply fulfilling. Cheshire carries a strong feline persona; I incorporated subtle cat-like playfulness and languor into my expressions and poses, hoping to bring everyone a fresh visual experience through this lavish garden gown.
