This Halford Bunny girl cosplay costume is finally complete and shot; from sourcing fabrics to delivering the final photos took about half a month. When I first received the character design art, the biggest headache was that hat: not only did it require a wide-brimmed three-dimensional structure, but it also had to combine a pink bow, a black satin ribbon, cat ear elements, and small medicine-bottle-like charms without looking cluttered. Eventually, I used stiff interfacing for the base and hand-stitched three layers of lace inside and out. Trying it on made my neck feel slightly sore, but seeing the final photos made every bit of effort worth it.
The costume overall features a pink halterneck bodysuit. To hug body lines smoothly, I tailored slight darts along the side waists and lower back so the fabric wouldn't bunch up when seated, better accentuating body curves. Outside, it is layered with lace-trimmed white arm sleeves; the wide cuffs nicely soften arm contours. The lower half consists of white ruffled shorts paired with pure White stockings. For these stockings, I deliberately selected a slightly thicker, matte-textured fabric that provides even skin tone transitions with zero specular glare under studio lights, remaining comfortable and free of tight pinching lines whether standing or sitting, preserving hours of shooting comfort.
On the shooting day, the studio utilized only pure white backdrop paper without extraneous props, relying mainly on a long-pile plush rug and a white cylindrical prop to construct spatial depth for seated poses. The first set of poses involved sitting on the plush rug, where I experimented with crossing my legs sideways while lightly touching the black bow at the neckline—a posture that highlights the side waist curve while making legs appear slimmer encased in White stockings. The second set moved to the white cylinder, letting my legs dangle naturally and cross, captured by photographer Yayuan from a slightly low angle to visually elongate leg proportions. Throughout this, I continuously focused on posture alignment, because if the back slacks, the entire aura loses its poise, ruining the vibrant yet subtly seductive playfulness inherent to Bunny girl cosplay.
Shooting against such massive white expanses framed by large blocks of pink and white clothing rigorously tests exposure and shadow control. I specifically asked the photographer to raise the key fill light slightly, letting side rim-lighting outline the hair strands of the silvery-white wig, creating distinct separation between subject and background so nothing blurred together. I trimmed the wig twice, cutting the side bangs right to cheekbone height; paired with pink contact lenses and heavy blush on the cheeks, visual weight concentrated on the upper half of the face, harmonizing with the neckline's black bow for striking color contrast.
Although this outfit centers on a Bunny girl cosplay theme, I deliberately avoided exaggerated, overly provocative poses, opting instead for character nuances conveyed through gaze and interwoven limb angles. During the shoot, there were candid frames interacting with a small yellow plush toy; those casual, playful moments with props felt much more organic. Across the entire session, wardrobe integrity, Stockings texture, and chiaroscuro alignment reached my ideal expectations. Post-processing preserved original skin textures without over-smoothing, maximizing a clean, crisp Anime cosplay atmosphere.
