[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane pink Bride styling photoshoot record

This time for the Cheshire pink Bride styling at Guangzhou Bridal Dream Only, it took about half a month from makeup testing to the final photos. Cheshire's Bride design is extremely sweet, and holding the physical item made it feel even more intricate; the clothes are almost covered in alternating pink-and-white lace and three-dimensional roses, and the layering of the skirt hem is exceptionally rich. The wig is the iconic gray-blue spliced short hair; I trimmed the bangs myself and added a small pink bow hairpin. The headwear is a cat-ear-shaped lace tiara, topped with blooming roses, and thin gauze ribbons on both sides, giving a great sense of dynamism when walking. The makeup specially emphasized the bright blue contact lenses, with eye makeup combining pink and earth tones, heavier blush matching the cute 2D character's temperament, and a delicate pink lipstick, making the overall makeup look relatively clear and translucent.

The design of this outfit really tests how it's worn; the high-low train design required some thought when posing on the staircase. If the sitting posture is too casual, it's not only easy to crush the skirt hem, but it also makes the whole person look bulky. So before the shoot, I specifically tried a few sitting postures, trying to cross my legs and extend them toward the lens. This not only showcases the lines of the white stockings and high heels, but also lets the layers of the skirt spread out naturally, visually lengthening the proportions. The upper body is an off-the-shoulder design, coupled with translucent lantern sleeve covers on the arms, requiring arm movements to open up a bit to support the fluffiness of the sleeves. The 3D roses at the neckline matched with the neck ornament require constant attention to posture; slightly slouching makes one look unenergetic.

This was an on-site photo shoot at Guangzhou Bridal Dream Only. The lighting and crowds at the convention venue were indeed a test for shooting. To avoid the messy crowds in the background, we deliberately found a corner on the staircase, using the black metal railings and flower wall as foreground and background for cover. In terms of posing, considering the cut of this outfit, I consciously kept my back straight and shoulders open the entire time. The shooting location was chosen as a spiral staircase with plenty of flower walls; the depth of field of the stairs is very suitable for photos. To match the dreamy feel of the pink bride, the photographer @只想大口干饭 found many high and low angles. Low angles for standing poses can make the legs look longer, while high angles for sitting poses can better showcase the gorgeousness of the costume.

Shoe selection is also very important; white chunky-heeled platform shoes match white stockings very well in color, while also increasing the visual length of the legs. During the shoot, we tried an action of sitting down, taking off the shoes, and placing them aside, so that the focus could be completely concentrated on the texture of the white stockings and the lines of the feet—an inspiration gotten from looking at other photos before. Later on, we simply took off the white chunky shoes and stepped on the steps wearing white stockings, which unexpectedly gave a lazy, homey feel—an unexpected visual bonus. However, the on-site lighting was quite mixed, requiring constant attention to fill light to ensure the character's facial and costume details weren't lost, especially since white stockings are prone to overexposure under strong light, requiring continuous adjustment of exposure parameters with the photographer.

Overall, the shooting experience of this Cheshire Bride outfit was fantastic. The cut and details of the costume are very well done; although the train gauze is very long and movement is a bit inconvenient, the resulting texture makes it feel totally worth it. The on-site flower wall and staircase setup matched this outfit with high compatibility. Trying different postures and perspectives was also to showcase the character's original design feel in all aspects through this work.
