Chien Wu's Qipao cosplay look seamlessly blends traditional Chinese aesthetics with the port's summer vibe. What catches the eye most about this outfit is its striking color contrast. The main body is crafted from deep-blue jacquard fabric, whose subtle woven patterns emit a delicate luster under the convention hall's overhead lights, while the large-scale red peony prints across the chest and skirt hem are remarkably eye-catching. The neckline is tailored into a classic Chinese mandarin collar paired with a halter-neck cutout across the chest, gracefully accentuating the collarbone lines. To enhance the overall depth, a peach-pink translucent silk scarf was layered over it; this ethereal, lightweight fabric delivers great fluidity when walking, though it easily snags on exhibition booths and attendees' backpacks in the hall, requiring extra caution with each movement.

In terms of accessories, a long pearl necklace draped around the neck not only fills the negative space of the cutout but also echoes the character's innate elegance. The dimensional blue floral headpiece and matching blue-accented contacts serve as the finishing touches, while the blunt-bang black bob frames the face nicely. Paired with reddish eyeshadow and a touch of highlighter on the tip of the nose, the facial contours gain crisp definition under the alternating warm and cool lighting of the convention center. A long-wearing foundation was used for the base makeup, as staying power is essential in a crowded, warm convention environment to ensure high-quality shots.

The venue for the 2026 Port Midsummer Cool Festival was immense, and the reflective flooring offered plenty of captivating reflection effects to leverage. To bring out the draping texture of this dress, I selected hallways with relatively clean backgrounds and ample depth. Because of the long hemline and the flowing scarf, initially planned movements were somewhat tricky to extend; eventually, I simply angled my body slightly, rested my hands gently crossed in front, and used the natural folds of the cascading scarf to elongate the visual frame. The shot with one hand raised pointing upward was aimed at breaking the quiet stillness, giving the composition more dynamism.

Navigating the hall in this outfit was honestly quite challenging, as the long skirt and trailing scarf could easily be stepped on. During the shoot, we came across a blue exhibition backdrop that resonated harmoniously with the color of the outfit. To highlight the skirt's rich layers, I twirled in place several times, letting the red-and-blue floral patterns and scarf flare outwards while the photographer captured the motion from the side, resulting in that full-body frame. The entire shoot lasted about two hours, and between the venue's warmth and the fabric's weight, it felt rather stuffy, but seeing the light, shadow, and garment details on the camera display assured me the result met expectations. Without relying on elaborate props, we successfully restored the character's cold, glamorous yet tender essence purely through the garment's tailoring and the ambient lighting.
