A tremendous amount of effort went into customizing this Argus cosplay swimsuit look from the very start. Once the complete ensemble arrived, I studied its pattern carefully and found that the blue-and-white palette naturally brings a cooling visual effect to summer shoots. To begin with the garment details, the outer sheer white cover-up is made of an extremely airy material blending the tactile qualities of organza and PVC; it is not only breathable, but also catches a subtle sheen under the studio lights, which meant we had to capture light refractions precisely during shooting. Beneath it lies a blue-and-white colorblocked bikini top with a dimensional white bow across the chest. The blue criss-cross ties and tassels around the waist, paired with the lace garter ring on the thigh, serve as the crowning accents. To add layered depth to the entire styling, I incorporated layered silver necklaces and silver stiletto open-toe heeled sandals, which, alongside sleek silver-white long straight hair and a blue ribbon clip on the side, fully established the character's silhouette. The wig was styled meticulously before heading out, as the curves of the bangs and sidelocks directly define the facial proportions.
For this shoot, the studio set was arranged with immense care. The backdrop featured dreamlike blue fluorescent lines resembling abstract wings or an undersea world, while the floor was a pure, solid blue. At first, the photographer had me lean against the white bar counter in front. I struggled slightly to find the right groove initially, but once I relaxed my shoulders, that effortless, casual leaning pose proved to be far more photogenic. Lifting my left hand slightly with fingers gently parting, guiding my gaze along the line of my fingertips, and shifting my body weight subtly to the side instantly brought me into character. For the standing shots, keeping my spine straight and aligning the angles where lights illuminated the sheer fabric were crucial to capturing that ethereal, translucent texture. Hand placements had to remain organic—gently resting rather than pressing rigidly against the cloth to preserve that airy lightness.
The shots glancing back over my shoulder tested my core strength the most. Balancing on those silver stilettos while executing a rear single-leg lift required ankle and lower back stabilization to anchor my center of gravity. We repeatedly dialed in the angle of my pointed instep just to let the leg line and the arch of the heel achieve a flawless sense of extension, all while maintaining the elegant curve of the neck and expressive eye contact during the turn. Seeing the finished shots and how the light and shadow sculpted the skin and sheer fabric made every bit of hard work completely worthwhile. In the makeup department, I adjusted the under-eye blush placement and saturation multiple times to emulate a sun-kissed or freshly emerged-from-water flush; paired with light-colored contact lenses, the anime aesthetic came alive.
Shooting in such a breezy ensemble inside a studio requires caution with many nuances. For instance, sheer fabrics easily smudge against foundation, so putting on and taking off the outfit demanded extreme care without abrupt movements to avoid tears or stubborn creases. The towering heels were great for visuals, but standing for long hours certainly tested foot endurance; fortunately, everyone worked in great sync, adjusting camera angles and lighting setups swiftly. Layering cool white key lights with the blue ambient glow made skin tones look clean and luminous. The overall result successfully radiates that refreshing summer chill, with every detail faithfully recreated. I hope these finished photos bring everyone a touch of summer coolness as part of the Azur Lane 2026 Port Midsummer Cool Festival celebrations—a truly fulfilling milestone for this Anime swimsuit photoshoot.
