[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane Chinese Style New Year Cosplay with Gold Ingot and Pipa

This New Year-themed Azur Lane Cheshire Cosplay outfit is finally here. For this shoot, we selected a modified Chinese-style qipao paired with a white plush shawl and dramatic cat-ear ruff headpiece, blending Cheshire's iconic character markers with festive holiday cheer. The silver-grey short wig with teal-blue highlights faithful recreates her signature color palette, while vibrant blue eye makeup brings out a lively, approachable presence.

Set decoration was meticulously arranged, featuring traditional Chinese lattice windows adorned with hanging red lanterns and inverted "Fu" (good fortune) characters. Scattered across the floor were golden abacuses, red firecracker props, lion dance statues, golden sequins, and warm yellow lighting, establishing a opulent atmosphere of prosperity. To fit the holiday motif, we prepared gold ingots, red envelopes printed with "Peace and Joy", and a custom wooden pipa as a central prop. Posing with the pipa seated required fine-tuning leg angles to present the white stockings, garter straps, and heels in ideal proportion; shot seven beautifully captures that serene, elegant Oriental grace.

Shooting with interactive props tests spontaneous adjustments on set. Shot one features a reaching motion holding a gold ingot to simulate attracting wealth, requiring extended arm posture while maintaining core balance. Shot two shows a playful mood biting a red envelope with a blinking fist pose. Shot four with a guest tabby cat demanded control—soothing the cat while protecting the delicate gold embroidery on the outfit from sharp claws.

Garment details are exceptionally rich: intricate floral mesh at the keyhole chest cutout, gold frog closures along the collar and cuffs, and golden patterns embroidered onto red satin. Though the plush shawl looks luxurious, it can easily appear bulky during close-up shots with the pipa, requiring precise lens angles from the photographer. Holding the custom wooden pipa proved physically demanding over time, requiring significant arm strength to maintain a relaxed strumming posture. In shot six, slipping off one high heel beside my foot began as a casual rest break, but added an effortless touch of ease that earned its place in the final edit.

Achieving golden radiance under warm studio lights took extended effort and lighting tweaks. Despite the physical demands, the final set delivers rich color depth and festive joy, illustrating the charm of combining holiday motifs with traditional aesthetics. This New Year set was crafted step-by-step to deliver sincere New Year's Greetings and celebrate a fruitful Anime New Year project.
