To do justice to Taihou's Taihou - Forbidden Fruit gown from Azur Lane, we specifically scouted an atmospheric bar counter as our primary backdrop. Modeling as myself, I styled long straight black hair specifically for this red dress, complemented by crimson contacts and a matching red choker. Although the gold crown hair accessory atop my head is petite, its metallic sheen looked exceptional under the bar's crimson ambient lights. The garment is a crimson satin slip dress; its high-reflectivity surface posed quite a challenge for lighting control. To echo the overall styling, I wore lace-trimmed Black stockings that, paired with the high-slit skirt, beautifully showcased leg silhouettes while seated along the wooden bar counter.
Our gear kit featured a Sony A1 body paired with Viltrox 35mm F1.2 Lab and Sony 50mm F1.2 GM lenses. In such low-light conditions bathed in red moody glow, the edge of ultra-fast primes was undeniable. The Viltrox 35mm provided environmental framing indoors, while the 50mm GM excelled at capturing half-body close-ups and delicate facial expressions. In Photo 1, I sat on the counter with knees drawn up, arms embracing my legs, with an adorable yellow plushie placed beside me to inject a quirky element of gap-contrast, cultivating a relaxed, languid posture in crimson satin and black stockings. Photo 2 transitioned into holding a wine glass: leaning forward slightly with the goblet in hand, an angle that flattered the neckline, collarbones, and chest jewel ornament while locking eyes directly with the lens.
The entire shoot progressed smoothly. Red satin and warm mood lights undeniably pop on camera, though the sheen can easily cast erratic specular reflections across facial contours; fortunately, off-camera strobes helped tame the intrusive ambient wash. This set avoided complex, heavy-handed retouching, focusing instead on preserving organic skin textures and the fluid gloss of the satin fabric. Taihou's gown design carries immense visual impact, and my goal was to evoke that dangerous yet intoxicating allure. Foregoing overly dramatic set pieces, the focus was simply documenting the look and feeling of the moment—a thoroughly enjoyable Anime-style photography session.
