Outdoor Convention photos of this Jeanne d'Arc ensemble from Azur Lane are finally sorted out to share with everyone today.
The weather on the day of the convention was wonderful, with outdoor natural light being exceptionally clear and luminous—ideal for the blue-and-white color scheme I wore. While passersby occasionally stepped into the background during Outdoor photography, this lively hustle was part of the unique convention atmosphere, creating an authentic collision between the 2D world and reality. For this Jeanne d'Arc cosplay, I brought along two custom props: a blue oil-paper umbrella and a matching round fan, perfectly capturing the character's poised yet gentle demeanor.
Let's delve into the costume details. The centerpiece is a halter-neck white embroidered lace dress featuring intricate botanical embroidery across the bodice and skirt hem, revealing soft light-and-shadow depth when backlit. The lower half combines white romper shorts with a White thigh-highs outfit; the lace trim along the thigh bands echoes the high slit of the skirt, ensuring mobility while naturally flattering leg lines. Wearing white thigh-highs elevated the cool-white aesthetic, contrasting vividly against the royal blue sheer cape and the pristine white fur trims across the shoulders.
The royal blue fabric of the cape had a lovely subtle shimmer, with gilded wheat ear embroidery along the borders enhancing its refined craftsmanship. As I walked, the cape draped naturally, pairing with airy sheer arm sleeves to provide layered elegance. For props, the tassel on the round fan and the soft blue tones of the oil-paper umbrella harmonized subtly with the blue-green gemstone necklace at my collar.
For makeup, I aimed for a soft, luminous style. To suit the cool palette of the character, I selected blue contact lenses to deepen the gaze. Eye makeup focused on curled lashes and elongated winged corners, while lips were painted in a striking watery coral-red to prevent the cool tones from looking pale. Light blush kept the complexion fresh and clean under sunlight. The light-blonde wig was styled with airy, voluminous bangs, with framing locks along the cheekbones flattering facial contours.
These Convention photos were taken during moments when crowds thinned out. The photographer utilized ambient light masterfully to capture candid states—such as sitting gracefully while playing with the round fan with legs extended under dappled sunlight, or standing with the blue umbrella as the breeze caught my hair and the cape's fur. Overcoming nervousness in front of onlooking crowds is challenging, but immersing myself into character naturally brought out composed expressions.
Jeanne d'Arc in Azur Lane carries a steadfast sense of devotion, and I strove to convey that dignity and tranquility before the camera. Holding poses in high heels and stockings in the sun was physically demanding, but seeing the final frames made every bit of preparation worthwhile in this Jeanne d'Arc cosplay showcase.
