I captured two sets of Cheshire photos on site at this anime convention, and I felt quite satisfied seeing the final shots. That instant in the first photo where the skirt billowed in the wind was actually tough to catch; there happened to be a draft blowing through the hall, so I lowered my center of gravity slightly. The photographer's shutter timing was spot-on—the flying blue-and-white ribbons and black leather shoes paired with over-the-knee white socks perfectly unleashed the character's vibrant dynamism. The second shot shows me stepping out of my shoes, holding up the voluminous skirt with both hands in a grounded stance, leaning toward a static display. This was mainly to let everyone clearly appreciate the layering and detail of this outfit—such as the massive blue rabbit-ear headpiece, golden sphere ornaments, plush lace ruffles across the chest and cuffs, and the textured cross with golden chains on the corseted waist. Stacking all these elements together really required immense effort.

Preparing this cosplay costume took a considerable amount of time beforehand; adjusting the inner hoop skirt alone took several revisions, otherwise it wouldn't hold that fluffy, rounded silhouette shown in the pictures. Moving around in it involved noticeable resistance, especially when spinning the skirt, requiring constant manual smoothing of the layers. Yet the joy of cosplay lies in this very \"recreation challenge.\" When every tiny detail aligns with original artwork, standing under venue lights makes every bit of work feel totally worth it. Since this was an indoor convention shoot with cool-white overhead lighting, I opted for a translucent natural base makeup, keeping eyeshadow and lip colors soft while pairing them with light-colored contacts to ensure facial expressions balanced nicely against the ornate attire without feeling overly heavy or out of place.

During the photoshoot, quite a few random situations arose—for instance, over-the-knee socks loosening slightly after walking around, or leg circulation speeding up after standing for a long time. Still, to maintain overall visual appeal, I maintained a straight, elegant posture. The slightly forward-leaning low stance in photo one could easily cause a stumble on the skirt hem if balance was lost; I had to test it several times to find the most comfortable footing. In photo two, stepping on the cold floor without shoes was chilly, but to present the contrast of barefoot aesthetics with white over-the-knee socks, it was a thoroughly worthwhile experiment. Furthermore, standing on mirror-like floor tiles created reflections that made the overall composition cleaner and sleeker.

Capturing both character vitality and elegance simultaneously is always the hardest part during Anime convention cosplay shoots. Cheshire naturally possesses a smart, slightly mischievous aura, so I kept facial expression management relaxed—letting a gentle smile touch the corners of my mouth with a direct, soft gaze toward the lens without being overly sharp. This harmonized with the flowing skirt movement, creating a relaxed yet tense visual impact. Rather than rigid posing, I prefer blind candid captures while walking or turning around, as dynamic moments captured on the fly feel far more natural than forced poses.

Looking at these two shots again, it's hard to say which I prefer more. Photo one packs a strong visual punch, perfect for avatar icons or lead cover shots. Photo two focuses on outfit expansion and silhouette structure, showcasing the skirt's full width and depth of layering. Meeting many fellow enthusiasts at the convention venue was fantastic—everyone was intrigued by the intricate outfit construction, from the back bow tying technique to the cuff lace paneling; chatting about it created genuine resonance.

Overall, this was a thoroughly joyful photoshoot experience. Though packing equipment and changing outfits felt tiring, all fatigue melted away upon seeing the finished frames. If suitable future conventions arise, I might fine-tune minor details of this set—such as stiffening the hoop skirt support or adjusting the headpiece's mounting angle for better wind resistance. Maintaining passion for cosplay and continuously refining personal expressiveness remains the absolute key to steady growth in Anime-style photography.
