[Evernight cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail — Recreating Eidolon Among Caged Roses

When prepping this Eidolon look for Evernight cosplay, the main focus during preparation was how to capture a feel that is both elegant and tinged with a hint of danger. The overall outfit uses black, white, and red as its base. The vest and corset structure on the upper body strongly emphasizes contour lines, while the high collar base layer paired with a black metallic cross buckle right at the center forms a visually focused detail. The sleeves feature a detachable, loose white design, which not only adds layering but also creates a floating, graceful feel during movement. Paired with black leather gloves on both hands and ring ornaments at the fingertips, the visual color tension of the upper body Red and black outfit stands out vividly.

The wig color is light pink, echoing the red contact lenses perfectly. Black geometric hair clips on both sides of the top of the head were securely fastened during the shoot to prevent shifting when turning. The eye makeup was slightly heavier than daily makeup, especially with an upward wing at the outer corners. To make the red irises pop, I intentionally lowered the color saturation of the eyeshadow, relying on eyeliner and lashes to focus the expression. Lip color was a matte rose bean-paste red—not overly loud, but fitting seamlessly with cool, pale skin.

The set arrangement took considerable thought. The golden iron Birdcage set on site carries a strong sense of narrative, paired with a massive red velvet curtain behind to establish a vintage, slightly mysterious tone. Red rose petals scattered across the floor and a wooden box holding a wine bottle on the right were added to give the environment story-rich texture rather than feeling like a plain studio backdrop. Warm yellow fairy lights looked moderately bright through the viewfinder, but during actual shooting, they softened the visual intensity of the large red areas, rendering skin tones clear and translucent.

In terms of posing, sitting on the metal chair aimed for a natural, relaxed state. Black and white slouch socks paired with platform leather shoes at the bottom serve as a highlight of the lower body. A cross-legged sitting posture showcases the white thigh-high stockings and leg contours. In the photos, I also experimented with different perspectives, such as the composition in one shot where my foot is lifted directly toward the camera—this exaggerated perspective breaks away from conventional sitting poses to deliver a direct visual punch.

Beyond full-body shots, this Cosplay photography session produced several close-ups of character details, including a three-quarter side profile when tilting the head, as well as close-ups highlighting red irises and cheek contours. Merging these details lets everyone directly appreciate the refinement of makeup, hair, and accessories. A hidden setting in this look with maximum contrast is the dark/corrupted form shown in the bottom right of the collage. To express this distinct version, I prepared a separate dark wig and special black shadow makeup effects. Although my face was blurred out by darkness in those close-ups, the shushing gesture combined with the fracturing effect perfectly echoes the oppressive aura of the original in-game Eidolon.

For post-processing light and shadow, a slightly darker tone was retained to contrast the metallic reflections of the cage with the red fabric backdrop, ensuring the subject's face and white clothing trims pop cleanly out of dark surroundings. Attempting such complex makeup styling and a strongly vintage studio set placed high demands on detail control. From attaching wig pieces and adjusting every chain's placement to swapping different socks for pant length tuning, every step was strictly executed. The final presentation fulfills the original vision of a classical, cool, and ethereal Eidolon atmosphere.
