Putting on this outfit and donning the custom-made Hexagram Hat, I can instantly feel Hu Tao's quirky and mischievous aura. This shoot was chosen to be outdoors, where the fabric texture looks amazing under natural light, and the dark brown robe paired with the red bow tie and accents highly recreates her classic color scheme. The texture of the wig is also very smooth, and the curves of the bangs and sideburns were repeatedly adjusted, striving to match the lively yet casual nature of the character's personality. During the shoot, I tried several different poses; the moment of waving in the picture feels exceptionally right, exactly Hu Tao's signature posture of warmly greeting customers. To get closer to the character, I also adjusted the makeup, with the eyeliner slightly winged upward and a lighter lip color to highlight Hu Tao's distinct playfulness. The metal accessories and tassels on the body were carefully managed, as not a single detail could be overlooked. Standing outdoors in this costume, it feels as if I have truly become Liyue's young director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, ready to handle those "weird and quirky" orders. Although the character always seems carefree, this cosplay required a lot of thought and effort from wig trimming to costume micro-adjustments and prop making—especially the symbol on the hat, which was hand-drawn in several versions before I was satisfied. Every time I do a cosplay, it's a completely new experience; it's not just about wearing the clothes, but about understanding and interpreting the character's state of mind. Hu Tao may seem erratic on the surface, but she actually holds her own unique insights into life and parting. This sense of contrast is a key point I wanted to capture in my performance. I hope this recreation allows everyone to feel the image of that vibrant young director from the 2D world of Genshin Impact.
