[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Meets Honkai Impact 3rd: A Cross-Dimensional Pastel Encounter with Elysia

Partnering with Suisui Nian this time, we brought to life a pastel-toned, cross-dimensional duo cosplay session. I portrayed Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail, while Suisui Nian cosplayed Elysia from Honkai Impact 3rd. Though these two characters hail from different titles, their shared pastel locks, signature pointed ears, and ethereal, dreamlike auras inspired us to unite them within the same frame. The sunlight that day was dazzlingly intense; to complement the soft, fluffy temperament of the characters, our photographer, Fashi Yangsu, deliberately employed high-key exposure. Broad washes of intentional overexposure melted the sky and water into gentle, pale hues, infusing the entire frame with a creamy macaron texture that visually constructed an idyllic, carefree alternate dimension.

To break down my Cyrene ensemble: the cropped white uniform jacket was detailed with soft pink piping, anchored by a red-and-white checkered neckerchief at the collar and pink heart-shaped ribbons on the sleeves. To align with the elf-like aesthetic, I wore prosthetic pointed ears, violet-pink colored contacts, and a wig featuring a pink-to-purple gradient, topped off with a crisp white beret to unify the palette. For the lower half, I wore patterned White stockings paired with chunky pink sneakers; walking or kicking across the lawn brought out that distinct, airy 2D lightness. In makeup, I defined the eye contours and separated each lash cleanly to give the gaze an otherworldly blend of vacant serenity and innocent divinity.

Suisui Nian's look brought a complementary visual contrast. She wore a white printed crop camisole beneath an off-the-shoulder, oversized powder-blue jacket, paired with a blue-gray pleated mini skirt cinched by a metallic chain and printed sash. A pastel-blue knit beanie crowned her head, while her pink-and-blue gradient wig was braided into a thick plait that swayed freely behind her in the breeze. Standing side-by-side, my violet-pink palette and her blue-pink tones formed an exquisite, mutually elevating harmony.

The entire shoot was driven by effortless chemistry. We explored diverse interactive choreography—holding hands side-by-side, leaning back-to-back, sharing close-up gazes, and reaching dynamic candid gestures toward the lens. In one shot where we kicked forward in unison, balancing on platform sneakers while maintaining playful expressions was quite a feat. The riverside location had fierce gusts, constantly whipping our wigs and skirts into chaotic motion; yet that wind resistance gifted us wonderfully spontaneous moments of billowing hair and fluttering fabric. The river railings, distant architecture, and green foliage served as our backdrop, softly blurred into cool-toned gradients under strong backlighting. Fashi Yangsu provided excellent pose direction—rather than forcing rehearsed expressions, he let genuine connection unfold, like the moment Suisui Nian draped an arm over my shoulder and I tilted my head toward her, or the tentative, exploratory glances we exchanged face-to-face. To keep our skin tones luminous and translucent, we angled our faces toward open, diffused ambient light supplemented by reflectors. A full day of outdoor shooting is physically exhausting—colored contacts and wigs strain the eyes and scalp, prosthetic ears pinch uncomfortably over time, and standing on platform soles leaves arches aching. Yet reviewing the camera monitor and seeing those gentle rays and vibrant pastel colors instantly brought back the pure love I felt when first discovering these characters. Every outdoor shoot is an act of materializing character appreciation—from fabric selection to deliberating gestures, it is all about recreating that personal spark of inspiration in the physical world. This session was truly special, and capturing these moments brought pure joy.
