The black and purple palette shot today at the ChinaJoy Sony booth turned out to be an incredible surprise. My original plan was merely to test how this metallic-sheen dress looked, never expecting how dynamic it would register under the on-site laser lighting. Starting with today's makeup: to fit the elf ear and demon horn concept, I accentuated the lower eyeshadow with reddish-pink tones, paired with large-diameter circle lenses to make my gaze sharper and more focused. The headpiece featured an oversized black-and-purple plaid bow combined with a high updo and blunt bangs, avoiding any top-heavy imbalance. Black long leather gloves with silver chains on the arms added great visual depth to any spontaneous pose.
I cycled through three outfits today. The first was a black-and-white maid dress paired with black demon horns and pointed elf ears. Its highlight was the layered skirt, which I cinched with a white techwear belt to emphasize the waistline, paired with black fishnets and chunky platform shoes for steady movement across the booth. The second was a blue-and-white ensemble featuring an angelic halo overhead, wings on the back, and fluffy white flowers adorning twintails. This look was sweet and docile, with shimmering sequins on the skirt sparkling beautifully under laser lights. The final one is the black-and-purple look shown in the photos: a leather top paneled with iridescent purple-blue fabric, complemented by scale-like sequins on the skirt that shifted colors under illumination, finished with a red plaid ribbon accent.
The Sony booth setup today looked genuinely slick, with oversized holographic petal props setting an immersive mood. However, crowd routing and queue handling on the floor were somewhat frustrating, with lengthy wait times and lighting angles that required conscious hunting. To capture striking shots, I explored diverse postures: lifting one leg to highlight gartered fishnets and chunky platforms, or crouching low reaching out toward the lens. When shooting at ACG expos, expression management and balance are crucial—especially when executing one-legged hopping poses in heels, where careful ankle and core engagement prevents accidental slips. Fortunately, today's wardrobe delivered reliably across candid snapshots.
While not representing a specific anime or gaming character, blending an Elf maid concept with gothic punk—elevated by Black fishnet stockings—delivered that thrilling 2D visual punch. Merging maid aesthetics with suspenders and metallic hardware balances cool edge with sweet charm. I definitely look forward to exploring more mixed styles like this in the future.
