Preparing for this Keqing cosplay required considerable effort beforehand—from shaping individual wig strands to perfecting the gold pattern embroidery, I ran through every detail in my head repeatedly. In Genshin Impact, the Yuheng star's demeanor leans toward capable and decisive while retaining soft feminine contours; thus, I strove for harmony between a sleek high ponytail and gentle expressions in both location selection and makeup design. The shooting set was an indoor space rich in Oriental classical elegance, backed by a carved openwork wooden screen whose petal-like patterns picked up warm wooden tones under purple and blue ambient lighting, creating a dreamy, captivating atmosphere suitable for Chinese-style photography.

Regarding outfit accuracy, I selected a top and detachable sleeve set featuring cloud motifs and gold thread detailing, paired with a deep purple necktie and chest accessories. Below, a white-bordered short skirt elongates leg proportions gracefully. In these photos, I wore a Black tights outfit paired with dark pointed-toe low heels—a combination that noticeably flatters leg contours. I primarily used seated poses, especially the angle with legs gently crossed, which naturally highlights skirt layering and the sleek texture of black tights while keeping the upper body upright to display shoulder and collarbone lines with confident poise.

For staging, we arranged blue floral decorations beside wooden crates, adding white scrolls and prop teacups to enrich visual storytelling. The right-hand screen featuring cherry blossom motifs offered excellent background depth. The lighting technician lowered the main light source slightly to accentuate cool-and-warm color contrasts between purple and blue, making the purple skirt and golden hair accessories pop vividly in dim lighting. Rather than forcing dramatic poses, I relied on gaze direction and upright seated posture to convey Keqing's dynamic inner aura within quiet moments.

Additionally, while Keqing features a classic short-cut with long twin ponytail style, wearing the wig can easily look dense or heavy. To give it a natural, airy appearance, I combed through the fiber layers repeatedly before shooting. The cat-ear headpieces also required precise placement adjustments to maintain smooth lines from every angle. For makeup, I chose cool-toned eyeshadows paired with sharp winged eyeliner to render facial features three-dimensional and refined, fitting her cool, composed character traits.

Blending traditional oriental style with fantasy elements creates a setting that fits Keqing wonderfully. The preparation and shoot took a full afternoon, spent fine-tuning poses and prop angles. Holding the white prop teacup required controlled wrist tension to integrate seamlessly with my movement. In post-processing, I merely adjusted brightness contrast, preserving authentic fabric embroidery textures and tights sheen. Unfussy, realistic imagery brings out the thoughtful character design of Genshin Impact and the depth of Chinese-style photography sets. My photographer captured numerous ideal compositions, and my personal favorite remains the posture sitting upright with hands resting by my side—poised yet relaxed, perfectly embodying my understanding of this character: both capable in authority and light in maidenly grace.
