This shoot features a duo cosplay of Camellya and the male Rover from Wuthering Waves, commonly known as the Rover x Camellya pairing. As the Camellya cosplayer, I'm here to share the insights and behind-the-scenes details of this photoshoot.

Let's first talk about styling. The most challenging part was styling the wig—the silvery-white wig was styled into twin-tails with black decorative strips on top and highlighted bangs, requiring it to stay naturally voluminous during the shoot. The costume features a deeply layered red, black, and white color scheme: a red chunky knit cardigan, white shirt, black ribbon bow tie, red-trimmed collar, black suspender skirt with red buttons, red skirt hem, and white stockings. Preparation took considerable time—ironing the shirt collar and positioning the red sweater just right to ensure a natural drape in various standing poses. The makeup emphasized a clear, porcelain base and pink eyeshadow to amplify the vibrancy in my eyes.

My partner's male Rover cosplay styling was also quite elaborate, featuring slightly curly short black hair, gold contacts, a black jacket over a white turtleneck, and his signature long black braided ponytail. To convey the character's commanding aura, his expressions remained cool and composed, using poses like crossing arms or placing hands in pockets.

The location was an indoor industrial-style studio featuring metal scaffolding, railings, and framing structures. Because the background elements were complex, we adjusted our lighting setup accordingly, using a strong key light in front and accent lights from the side and rear to clearly outline our silhouettes against the dark-toned backdrop.

For the duo interaction design, we researched various poses, such as standing side-by-side while I gently tugged at his sleeve, or him turning slightly to complement my hand gestures. To accentuate the contrast in the frame, I played it lively and playful while he stayed composed and reserved. During shooting, we adjusted angles repeatedly to ensure our poses and eye contact achieved the desired effect. In post-processing, we mainly brightened the faces slightly, enhanced skin translucency, and darkened background elements to give the overall image a clean, high-end feel.

Especially when shooting duo photos, balancing our proportions within the frame and making the red sweater and white stockings stand out with distinct layers against the dark background required careful planning. Experimenting with multiple poses enhanced our sense of interaction, culminating in the finished piece through the harmony of lighting and posing. The success of this set is also thanks to my partner's dedication to movement details—a joint effort to faithfully bring the characters' traits to life.

Shooting this set was a wonderful experience and an important exploration of my own cosplay style. Down to the fabric choices, we compared multiple options before ultimately choosing this substantial red knit sweater to capture the character's playful essence. I hope this Rover x Camellya cosplay work offers an appealing visual presentation.
