[Seiga Kaku cosplay] Touhou Project: Seiga Kaku Blue-Haired Ancient Style Photoshoot Record

This shoot centered entirely on portraying Seiga Kaku from Touhou Project. We began refining nuances right from the makeup and styling phase—the wig was custom-trimmed at the bangs and heat-sculpted with her signature looped ahoge ring, paired with azure colored contacts to capture the character's mystical fantasy aura.

In terms of wardrobe, this ancient-style fusion ensemble blending traditional Eastern silhouettes with fantasy motifs offered rich visual layering. The white upper garment featured flowing, expansive water sleeves finished with navy-blue piped hems along the lapel and cuffs, centered by a gilded tassel pendant at the chest. The bottom skirt adopted a deep navy high-slit silhouette edged with delicate lace and pastel pink ribbon ties, revealing subtle leg lines and White stockings during motion to lend airy lightness to an otherwise ornate costume. To elevate the tactile quality, I curated jade hairpins and hand-drawn Taoist talisman paper props to enrich the frame's narrative visual depth.

The outdoor location was chosen for its heritage pavilion structures featuring vermilion pillars and emerald-green balustrades. Harnessing natural sunlight served as the cornerstone of our photographic strategy. Most daytime sequences utilized soft, diffused daylight to render the cool blue tones clean and luminous. The late-afternoon sequence transitioned into backlit framing as the sun dipped low, allowing directional rays to filter through from behind, tracing a gorgeous ethereal rim-glow along the outer strands of the wig. Posed with the paper talismans and folding fan in hand, this rim lighting cultivated an otherworldly ambiance hovering between the mundane and the surreal.

Throughout the session, the positioning of the folding fan, the placement of the talisman sheets, and the nuance of seated postures underwent repeated experimentation. In particular, for the full-body portrait seated along the vintage wooden bench, the slit skirt gracefully framed the leg lines while strategic prop placement maintained an air of enigmatic mystique, generating a balanced and visually cohesive composition. From garment coordination to prop fabrication, immense care was poured into this production, and I hope everyone experiences this singular Touhou charm.
