This Sandrone shoot project spent quite some time in development. From unboxing the garments to wrapping the final take, every step demanded thoughtful calculation. The 7th of the Fatui Harbingers possesses an intensely narrative background; to embody her faithfully, I poured immense focus into the styling and props. The outfit employs a classic black, white, and gold palette: the ivory blouse is cinched by an obsidian corset, whose gilded openwork filigree was a true test of tailoring and materials, requiring continuous lace adjustments to achieve a skin-tight fit. The skirt fuses wine-red pleats with ruffled white flounces that create dramatic dimension in motion, edged by golden trim. To accentuate the aristocratic court aesthetic, I curated vintage wax-sealed envelopes, an antique porcelain teacup, and a fresh red rose, giving hand postures natural narrative purpose. For makeup, the base remained porcelain, cool-toned, and sheer, complemented by smoked plum-violet eye contours and blue-violet cosmetic lenses, finished with natural nude lips to emphasize doll-like ocular precision. The pale-blonde wig was sculpted with blunt doll bangs and sleek side locks to evoke an inorganic, porcelain-automaton demeanor.
Her facial composure was deeply challenging: unlike everyday personas, she does not exhibit conventional human emotion, so I kept my gaze detached, cold, and aloof while maintaining poised, aristocratic grace in my physical lines. Lounging across the velvet sofa while holding an envelope in one hand, or reclining sideways while turning the teacup, captured the silhouette of the Lolita dress and white stockings (tights) without feeling stiff or forced. The studio set dressing was magnificent—rich crimson drapes, crystal chandeliers, and gilded baroque frames established an opulent classical ambiance. Warm ambient key lights washed over the white textiles with rich texture while deepening the vintage wine-red velvet of the sofa. The photographer was exceptionally attuned to nuance: the curl of a fingertip, the angle of crossed ankles, and the exact vanishing point of my gaze. The white stockings caught the warm glow with pristine texture, paired with black block-heel Mary Janes to flatter vertical proportions. This series balances lavish court grandeur with the sovereign secrecy native to the Fatui.
Cosplaying Genshin Impact characters is always an invigorating journey. Sandrone may appear as a petite, delicate maiden on the surface, but her calculating intellect and status cement her as a layered, menacing figure. I strove to channel that jarring contrast through body language and set interactions, using sofa bolsters, scattered gold coins, faux fur throws, and vintage treasure chests as foreground framing to build spatial depth. Every frame holds fine details meant to be savored. Endless gratitude to the photographer and studio crew for their hard work; I look forward to exploring even bolder styles in future shoots.
